So there is an antiques consignment store off the freeway between work and home so I stopped there this week and picked up some random vintage items from one of the booths at the store. This here is a She-Ra Frosta figure that I don't think the person knew was She-Ra because it was only 3 bucks.

The same booth had this great condition Man-E-Faces

And an incredible condition Leech (suction feature works great!)

This is a version of Soundwave called Sonicron. I bought it on clearance at BBTS.com the robot form looks like a really cool updated Soundwave (although the joints are real loose and it is hard to stand him up)

He transforms into something more modern than a boombox though as you can see here he is a minirecorder. His snap features don't work so well so overall he is really cool looking but the transform feature is very subpar.

Avengers movie toys came out this week and I couldn't resist this mini mugg of the Iron Man Mark VII.

Here is another vintage figure I got at the antiques place. It is a plastic Gremlin that I had as a kid!

Then you have a not so vintage Gremlin figure I got at FYE for a discount because the store in Orem is closing. This is the Flasher Gremlin! Can't wait for wave two because it has Electric Gremlin and Rambo Gizmo!!!!

Mummies and minimates

So they finally released the smaller versions of Bandai's Thundercats classics. I didn't buy the smaller Lion-o because I have the larger SDCC version but I did buy this Mumm-Ra (only to find out there is a larger version of him) :( But this figure still looks great!

Here we have the latest in the minimates with vehicles here we have Michael Knight with KITT! This car looks amazing and you can totally see the Hoff in this minimate!

This is a MVC3 set that I bought because it has a new Marvel figure never made before in Dromammu. It also comes with Trish from Darkstalkers that I am only keeping because she had a really cool sword.

I bought this loose with my recent purchase beccause of DST's new Femme Fatales set this was the one I though looked cool it is Darkchylde.

This is the Age of X set which I bought mostly because it has a Gambit in it but I also like the look of the Magneto. It also has a Rogue and a Cyclops.

Delays

So January's figure was supposed to be the Sorceress but delays with Mattel made them bump this set up so be the only thing we got in January. I guess if I didn't get the one girl figure I wanted then replacing one with three made it ok. Here we have the Star Sisters from She-Ra. We have Jewelstar with her bird Glorybird, then we have Starla and Tallstar. Mara adores these figures and was so impatient for me to open them up so she could play with them. Next month will be awesome because we will get the Sorceress, Shadow Weaver and Fisto! So stay tuned!

Well these next two are actually December 2011's subscription figures but they were delayed and only arrived this week. Here we have Demo-Man who you can read the bio about below but he was merged with Keldor to form Skeletor and this figure is based on original concept art for Skeletor.

Here we have Battleground Evil-Lyn who has an alternate head you can see here without the fan-hat. This figure is based more on the 200x character and thus I like her better than the other one (but I still love the other one too). Read the bio below.

Ok so these pictures are by no means really detailed because I don't have the patience for that right now but there is a small room off of the family room in our new house that my incredibly awesome wife has allowed me to take over for my toy room (although some of this room will be for my wife's sewing machine and the closet is for her craft stuff) so these first two pictures are of the two sides of the room but there are better pictures that will follow so keep reading. Also some of this stuff is displayed outside of this room on my desk unit and on top of the entertainment center.
Here is the other side of the room.

Back to side one we have some shelves with some Cars, BSG titaniums, Aliens Kubricks and Mezitz, Buffy Palz and some Cosbabies.Here you have my GI Joe Sigma 6 and my 25th anniversary and other GI Joes.

This is the window ledge in the room that has my SW Galactic Heroes and then some shelves with my Terminator and GB minimates.

Here we have all the Marvel minimates as well as LOTR. Above that we have random stuff like MASK, Shadow Strikers, Sectaurs, Sky Commanders, Tron, Gremlins and other random stuff.

Here we have all my MOTU Classics figures in my favorite IKEA curio.

Here we have Mighty Muggs and Street Fighter minimates and then Minimate vehicles (BTTF, Speed Racer, and Halo)

This Curio has vintage SW, C3PO and Boba Fett stuff

The bottom of the same curio has random TF and Gobots and then vintage MOTU.

Here we ahve a shelf with all my DC minimates and then BSG minimates too. On top of the curio are some 25th anniversary GI Joe vehicles. The red shelf has my Iron Man, Captain America, Deadpool, and Gambit figures (My 4 favorite Marvel characters) as well as some FF figures. There are also some Lego snowspeeders there too.

This case has my 200x MOTU figures as well as the classics Lion-o figure from SDCC this year.

The top of this same case has my loose SW collection of characters with lightsabers, pilots, Mandalorians, and Clone troopers.This other corner of the room has some shelves with random things like Gundam and other robots, Stikfas, Xevoz, NBC, Stark Trek stuff, and much more.

Out of the room on top of the entertainment center is some of my SW legos.

Next to that are my MOTU stactions.

Over on my desk set you have more SW legos, my Masterpieces and commerative series transformers along with some other random TFs (like all my seekers)

The other side of the desk unit has all my Soundwaves (and Blaster too) some of my Darth Vader collection and my Yoda Collection. There are still some things in boxes that will get displayed at some point but I am not done setting things up but this is the vast majority of things. Hope you enjoyed seeing how awesome I am (or crazy depending on who you talk to!)

Toys since my last post

This was my best find in a long time. I saw this TF Inferno voyager class figure on the shelf at TRU last week and thought to myself that it must be on clearance because it came out several years ago so I scanned it in the price checker and this TF that would normally be like 20-25 dollars rang up at 2$ that's right two dollars!!!! What a great steal for this really cool TF.

Breanne got this for me for Christmas it is the first vehicle in the MOTUC line. The Wind Raider it has a really cool flight display stand and looks great! The other December figures got delayed and they still haven't said when they are shipping and January's is shipping this week! So I guess this month will be good because I will be getting 3 figures!

This here is the most recent purchase that I made today at TRU who finally got the newest wave of exclusive minimates in stock. This is FA Thor and Balder the Brave. I like the Balder becase he matches the characters from a Thor box set I got a while back

This was the other exclusive set from this wave it is Crossbones and a very cool looking Secret War Captain America. This set was the sold out set on TRU.com so I have been checking the website everyday with no luck so I am glad it showed up in the store so I could use my rewards dollars and a gift card from Christmas.

These next 3 SW comic 2 packs were presents from my mother-in-law for Christmas and have been on my want list for quite sometime. Here we have Montross and Jaster Mereel to be added to all my other Mandalorians.

This is Jarael and Rohland Dyre from KOTOR which I wanted because Dyre is another Mandalorian and I like the Jarael figure a lot.

Lastly from Legacy we have Darth Nihl which I had to get for my characters with lightsabers shelf and he came with Deliah Blue which didn't really matter to me but oh well.

For any of you out there who wonder why so long between posts (I am pretty sure this is the biggest gap between posts since I started this blog) let me explain. We have been looking for a house since the spring and finally got into a short sale house. We closed a few days before Christmas and were able to move in on December 27th. So since my last post there has been a lot of packing going on, I also didn't really get any new toys until Christmas day and thos will be posted about soon enough, but really I am just saving the next post for pictures of my new toy room! I am about halfway done setting up and it is going to be EPIC! Can't wait. So for now rest assured that I didn't disappear I just had other larger things going on this last month and a half!

Motuc this month was great as the sub gave us a great classic figure in Snout Spout heroic firefighter! You can read his bio below.

We also got a beast this month in Swiftwind who is She-ra's horse. This is an amazing toy even though it is the girliest toy I have ever owned.Read the bio below.

The only problem with Swiftwind is that the She-ra we already had couldn't spread her legs wide enough to sit on it so they made a new version of She-ra called Bubble Power She-ra that can sit on Swiftwind so I had to get this version. You can take off all the pink armor and she looks like normal She-ra which is what I did and then I sold my old She-ra. Next month we get our first vehicle in the Motuc line so I am very excited about that. Read the bio below.

Heralds and gods

So wave 42 of Marvel minimates was a Thor/Captain America wave. Here we have Eric Masterson as Thor which is the variant for the wave. The army builder is the Kronan stoneman and then you also have Eric Masterson Thunderstrike.

Here we have Civil War Captain America and Arnim Zola (a very unique minimate with the face on the chest and the wierd head)

Last you have my favorite from this wave Armored Thor and also Beta Ray Bill.

TRU fan choice box set this year is the Heralds of Galactus. This set includes Terrax on the floating rock, Galactus with a mini Silver Surfer that attaches in flight to his shoulder, Nova, and Morg. This is one of the best box sets yet because first of all it is all completely new charaters and second the Galactus is incredibly cool!

I need to pay more attention.

So I just got a Savage Opress and complained that he didn't have a lightsaber. Well I found the second version of him that does come with the lightsaber. I guess I need to pay more attention to upcoming SW figures!

I also found this CW Even Piel figure. The other version I have of him is from my Jedi Council set so he doesn't have a lightsaber. This version is cooler.

My TRU had the first wave of the Marvel Vs Capcom 3 sets and I was oh so excited especially for this one. We have Magneto and the normal version of ZERO!!!!!

We also have Deadpool (care) and Dante (don't care).

And last we have Arthur (from Ghouls and Ghosts) and Iron Man with his big A gamma gun!

Vampires and Zombies

So I got a few new minimate sets and was excited to finally be getting some new minimates (Marvel minimates). This is called Curse of the Mutants and it was a story line involving vampires so we have Blade (of course) Dracula, Zombie Wolverine and Zombie Jubilee. I am glad to get another Blade and I like the look of this Wolverine.

This set is great because I love Deadpool. This was Action Figure Expresses NYCC exclusive set of the Deadpool Corps. Deadpool goes to other dimensions to recruit his counterparts to help him. From left to right we have Championpool, Kidpool, Headpool (the zombie head of deadpool from the Zombie universe) Deadpool, and Lady Deadpool. I love this set.

Prototypical

So the mail away exclusive this year for SW is this figure of the prototype armor of Boba Fett. So the first armor they made up for this character was more like a stormtrooper. We are all glad of course that they changed it to what it is but this is still a great exclusive figure. Even better was that I got a redemption form from Hasbros website and didn't have to buy a figure to get the form (they later changed that and made the online form unusable) they also didn't have assortment requirements for the proofs of purchase to send in so I used a bunch of old ones I had even as far back as 2005! Happy day.

Here we have Savage Opress from The Clone Wars. This is a great looking figure to pit against some of my jedi but I was disappointed that he did not come with a lightsaber of any kind.

This month's MOTUC figure is not my favorite but still cool. This character is from the New Adventures of He-man or as I like to call it He-man in space. In the show this character is called Flipshot but Nerf owns that name so Mattel calls him Icarius. You can read his bio below.

These are the REAL Ghostbusters

TRU continues making minimates for the REAL Ghostbusters cartoon from when I was a kid. This wave two includes Winston Zedmore and Peter Venkman. I love the wavy hair on Venkman!

Then we have Stay Puft and Louis Tully.

My favorite of them all is the Logo Ghost with a saw trying to cut his way out of the sign. He has an alternate head with a happy face to put on him once he has escaped. You also have Killerwatt ghost.

Then last we have Evil Slimer and the Sandman. Sandman isn't my favorite but these minimates are REALly great!

Monsters and menaces.

So I decided the only Universal Monsters minimates I would get would be the black and white versions that are TRU exclusives. So here we have this year's set in Dracula and Frankenstein's Monster.

With the release of SW on blu-ray there was a Lego Star Wars special released called the Padawan Menace and it features young Han Solo and the set came with this young Han minifigure! Very cool.

When I went to get my comics for this month at the comic store they had this on the shelf which I have wanted since I saw pics of it. It is a set of nesting dolls (I have a Darth Vader set already) of Princess Leia. Very very cool!

Here comes the Horde!

This month we get two MOTCU figures. The first is the variant Hordak figure Hurricane Hordak. He has three different attachments for his arm that spin around like a hurricane. You can read bio below.

Then we get a member of Hordak'd Horde, Leech. He doesn't have suction capability like the vintage Leech but the net he comes with does. He is probably the most different looking figure from a vintage figure so far but I still like him. You can read bio below.

SDCC stragglers come in the mail and 41 waves holy cow!

Well lets start with a great addition to the 90s Xmen here with wave 41's Mr Sinister! I remember loving the episodes with him in it! The army builder for this wave is Nimrod and the variant is the Age of Apocalypse Mr Sinister.

Then you have a great looking beefed up Hulk and a first appearance Iron Man.

The great new unique set of this wave is Green Goblin with a very first and very cool glider and then Unmasked Spiderman who can be, as you can see, tied up and captured with that rope!

Here are the last of the exclusive SDCC sets that came in the mail. Here is the Disney set Future Foundatin with Thing, Spiderman, Invisible Woman, and Mr Fantastic.

This set if the Mighty Thor with the very first and totally rad Beta Ray Bill, Thor, Sif, and Loki.

So very excited for this set which is a Marvel vs. Capcom 3 set with Dante, Phoenix, Arthur (from the game Ghouls n Ghosts which I had and loved for SNES!) and Deadpool. Arthur and Deadpool are my favorites here I love the accessories with Arthur!

Here we have TRU wave 11 exclusives (there was also a Nightcrawler but he is a duplicate from the Excalibur set so I didn't picture him here). We have Fantomex, Mr. Negative, and Betsy Braddock.

Here we ahve DSTs Marvel Select Gambit figure. We don't get many Gambit figures like this 90s Xmen version so I just had to pick him up when I found him at the Disney store!

The many faces of Man-E-Faces

So this month's MOTUC figure has got to be one of my all time favorites so far! We have Man-E-Faces and you can read his bio further down below (sorry that the pic is sideways stupid blogger!) I love this figure! So you can see his many faces below. The first 3 are the same as the original figure. The second three are the secret accessory that he came with that I didn't know about until today and it is the coolest one so far!

A few random things

So I picked up some of TRU exclusive HALO Universe wave 3 this here is the white Spartan ODST and the Brute Stalker with active Camo.

Here we have a Spartan Mark VI and an Elite Combat guy who looks really cool. I mostly just like to get the packs that have some unique figures in it not so much caring about the Spartans as they all look pretty much the same.

Cool new thing though was a two pack of Bakugan that has a Bakugan (which I gave to Xander) and a Marvel one which is Iron Man! I love different versions of Iron Man!!!

The SDCC MOTU exclusive figure this year was none other than He-man's mother. The figure was packged as Queen Marlena (below) at the show but since I bought mine on the sale on the website after the show my version is Captain Glenn which you can read about in the bio below. The cool accessory she came with is Cringer!

Here comes the Con!

So TRU had their exclusives for SDCC up on their website for sale pretty quick after the con and it was free shipping so I picked up the first Marvel vs. Capcom set (I didn't keep the Red Hulk figure from the set) This has the player 2 colors for Megaman Zero, Morrigan, and Stealth Iron Man. I love the Zero, what a great new minimate, can't wait for the P1 colors to come to TRU this fall.

Then I picked up the new classics Thundercats Lion-O figure and it is incredible! Great articulation, great accessories and it just looks amazing. I loved TC as a kid but never had Lion-O so this figure just makes me really happy.

Replacements

So Playskool has decided to replace their old stuff like Super Hero Squad and Galactic Heroes with newer stuff. Here we have the Marvel Adventures guys this is Iron Man and Dr. Doom. These figure still have the cuteness of the old stuff but with better articulation and playability.

The new SW stuff if called Jedi Force. Here is Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper.

R2-D2 and C3PO

And Luke and the very cute Yoda. I don't know how much I will collect these but I did want to get the few main characters that I wanted. I may get a vehicle when they show up at stores.

So normally new lego sets come out around the same time as SDCC and when we went into TRU on Friday I wasn't super surprised that there were new sets I was suprised for two things though. #1 I didn't even know about this Echo Base set you see here and where ESB is my favorite movie of all time I had to have this one. It has a bacta tank Luke, and R3PO and a 2-1B medical droid as well as a bunch of others. #2 TRU does buy one get one 50% off lego sets sales several times during the year but they usually don't include Star Wars. This time it did. So not only did I get two big lego sets I got it on a BOGO sale!!!

Here you have the Republic Frigate. Very reminiscent of the Blockade Runner I also recently purchased.

This set is even cooler because it comes with new jedi minifigures of Quinlan Vos and Eeth Koth!

Kre what? Kre-O! Claw what? Clawful!

Normally I take pics of my new MOTUC figures in package and then open them up but I forgot this time as I was super excited to open up Clawful here. (I am having withdrawls because all my toys are packed away in preparation for moving). Once again another winner! Next month will be great and SDCC promises a great figure too. So Hasbro has made these new construction legoesque sets called Kre-O They come with building blocks to build a character in robot mode or in vehicle mode. But the best part is that they come with lego like minifigures (but with more articulation) of G1 Transformer characters. This here is Thundercracker and. . . . . .

The reason I bothered buying the sets at all SOUNDWAVE. He looks awesome! I love it. So I bought the set with Sentinel Prime and took what I wanted and ebayed the rest. Wahoo!

Upgrades

In SW Episode II Attack of the Clones we were introduced to lots of new Jedi characters during the battle of Geonosis. The AOTC action figures released at the time of the movie were cool but they were permaposed with limited articulation so now that we are getting some better versions of these figures I have upgraded. Here we have Barris Offee from TCW.

Here we have Fi Ek Sirch formerly just called Nikto Jedi. He is from the vintage card series (still don't understand how an Ep II chracter can be vintage but whatever) These figures have the full range of articulation making them much better additions to my jedi/chracters with lightsabers collection.

So one of my favorite cartoons as a kid was The Real Ghostbusters and now we will be getting characters from that cartoon in my favorite toy format, minimates! Here we have ghosbusting Slimer with a power pack and Janine with hers as well.

Then we have Ray and Egon (Venkman and Winston will be in the next wave).

This is the Egyptian Ghost and Sam Haim.

And here we have the Boogieman and an Energy Terror Dog. These were all the TRU excluisve sets. They will be doing 4 packs as well but I will not be getting them as they only have slight variations on the first four minimates picture here.

Since Disney bought Marvel or something like that the Disney store carried Marvel stuff so I picked up this Marvel Select Deadpool because A. Deadpool is awesome and 2. They don't make enough Deadpool stuff.

Also got this Cars 2 toy with the online order because it is a mustang. This is Brent Mustangburger.

So with Cars 2 toys out I had to get this guy Grem because 1. The name of this type of car is gremlin and I love gremlins (the little green monsters guys) 2. Wayne drives a Gremlin in Wayne's World and 3. It reminds me of my family's old orange Pinto we used to have.

So Breanne entered a thing on the Disney website to be among the first of the general public to ride the revamped Star Tours ride at Disneyland. She won and so we flew down to California and here are some pictures from that weekend. We went to Disneyland all day Friday and then California Adventure on Saturday and then came home on Sunday. The new Star Tours is amazing! This picture is in front of a thing set up outside the park while we waited in line.

Most people can recount where they were the first time they saw the Tantive IV fly down from the top of the movie screen with a Star Destroyer chasing it. The first time I saw this on the big screen was in 97 at the Academy Theater in Provo when they rereleased the trilogy in theaters. I was on the front row (which sucked) but even at 16 years old and having already seen the movie a zillion times, it still blew my mind! So when they announced this lego set I knew I had to have it, but the time had to be right. I sold a bunch of minimates and thus had a good amount in my toy fund. Then they had the May the 4th be with you sale on the lego website so this was 30 bucks cheaper than normal which is huge for a lego set and there was free stuff with orders too! This is a great lego set and Xander and I had fun building it.

I bought an Aayla Secura keychain with the Tantive IV and took the keychain part off so that I could add her to all my other lego minifigure jedis and the shadow ARF trooper came free with purchase. The Alien Conquest set in the middle I bought because I love the head piece on the alien guy.

TRU is up to wave 10 of their exclusive minimates and one of the best one was in this wave that I had to get from TRU.com because they suck at stocking these in their store (it was also a miracle that I got them online as the website blows too) This here is Omega Red which I know from the 90s cartoon. He came with a Wolverine but I didn't care about that guy so he is going in the new lot of minimates to trade or sell in the future.

The wave also includes more Age of Apocalypse characters. Here we have Morph and Nemesis who is a very beefy and cool minimate.

Then we have Blink and Sabretooth.

This month's MOTUC figure is from She-Ra and it is her nemesis Catra and you can read her bio below. Next month will be a really unique and cool figure. This month, although the figure still looks amazing and is super cool, was not my favorite.

This month we get one of the best new MOTUC offerings in Panthor. Although he is not flocked he stilled rocks. This cat is super poseable and comes with a new unique helmet! He is already opened by the way and Skeletor is riding him. You can see his bio below. I seriously hate when this system can't load my pictures correctly but oh well.

The regular sub figure this month is also one of my favs and it is Sy-klone too bad he doesn't have his action spin feature but he still looks awesome and you can read his bio below.

I had all of last week off of work and was depressed that I hadn't found any new toys in my searches so I broke down on Saturday and picked up this Alley Viper. I have wanted him for a while but passed him up but had to have a toy fix.
This is a vintage Gobot that my best friend Kenny gave me. This is Herr Fiend. Kenny gave him to me because a piece broke preventing it from turning into car mode. But it looks great in robot mode and has the box too so I have no problem adding it to my collection!!!

Even though I suceeded in reducing my minimate collection, new ones just keep showing up int he mail! Here we have wave 38 with White Tiger, Hand Ninja, and the variant classic White Tiger on the right.

Then we have the great looking Iron Fist and a cool looking new version of Spiderman

Then we have Shadowland evil Daredevil and Elektra.

Next we have wave 39 which is based on the Thor movie and we have Thor and Destroyer

Then Loki and Odin

And then variant Jane Foster and Agent Coulson. These both came with a frost giant that I got int he single pack army builder box so I didn't keep those ones. So there you have my catch up for the last few weeks!

Ok so as you know I have been collecting the classic style TF seekers. Unfortunately Skywarp was released several years ago and I never picked it up so it has been the hardest one to get in my collection. A fellow board member on my minimate forum sold it to me though and so here we have the amazing Skywarp. Now I just need to find the newly released Thundercracker to have all the Seekers!!!!! I love thse guys!

So the last few days have been Tron days. On monday I got a bunch of the Disney Vinylmation Tron series in the mail this here is the only vintage one from that series of Kevin Flynn. Yesterday was Tron movie day as Legacy came out on blu-ray which I got that and the original classic on blu-ray as well. Then today as I type this I am downloading a newly available soundtrack of remixes! I also got the cardboard standup displays from FYE for Legacy from JD my brother in law! I love me some TRON!

Additions and subtractions

So at the same time that I am reducing my collection significantly I have also added to it. Here we have the new Excalibur boxset with a great powerhouse Juggernaut, Captain Brittain, Nightcrawler with a great bampf stand, and Meggan.

Then we have the new Thor movie army builder set which was the individually packed figures of Frost Giant 1 and 2, Laufey, Selvig and and Asgardian Royal Guard.

Those came in the mail today and I also found today at TRU the exclusives of civilian Thor, Volstagg and Lady Sif. This movie looks like it is going to be awesome. I also have the Thor movie wave coming in the mail!

The BBTS box also came with the BTTF 25th anniversary box set which came with Biff, Principal Strickland, Marty with his 50s skateboard, and Doc Brown in his radiation suit. The set also came with these fire tire marks to use with the mini Delorean.

This gives you an idea of the like 130 minimates that I am reducing out of my collection. I decided I needed to cut back and the easiest way for me to do that is to reduce what I already have, it makes it easier for me not to buy new stuff. So some previous posts will be of product that I don't have anymore. Mostly it was stuff I didn't care about like 24 minimates, Rocky minimates, and then alternate versions of characters I already have, and all of my duplicates among others. You obviously can't see them all here but it is a good amount. So now even though I was approachin 1000 different minimates I am just going to stop keeping count and just buy the new characters that I really want instead of trying to be a completeist. The lot I am selling also includes some minivehicles, c3 sets, and the box of the carrying case I just got last week.

Laser Gator!

The extra figure this month is Battle Armor Skeletor. I don't have BA He-man so I didn't necessarily care about getting this one but he is still cool and will look great on the filing cabinet in my office at work. The bio wouldn't load correctly so I have left it off but that is ok since there isn't any new and necessary info for Skeletor on it.

So this month's figure is King Hssss who comes with a separate upper half so that you can make him his snake insides. I think this one is cool but am not a big fan of his normal look and the snake insides look isn't that great either so oh well. Read his bio below.

So I got the Uncanny X-Force minimate box set with Wolverine, Archangel, Psylocke, and the oh so cool Deadpool. I really mostly wanted Deadpool but the others look good too. You can see behind these miniamtes that I also got the minimate carrying case. I bought this for two reasons. #1 because the inserts inside to stick the figures in are currently being used to make a great looking hall of armors for my Iron Man minimates.

#2 is that it came with this exclusive laser gator battle beast minimate. Oh I can't wait till they expand this line and make some other great BB minimates!

So for the past several years, since they opened up Ikea up in Salt Lake Valley I have been eyeing this display case. It reminds me of SDCC display cases because you can see stuff from all sides as its walls are all glass. This last week we went up there and I told Breanne that I wasn't going to pass it up again so voila here it is. Getting this case was also the one thing I needed to do before I opened up my MOTUC figures because I wanted a good place to display them before opening them (I didn't open all of them though, I kept some in their package).

So top shelf you have Beastman, Merman, Skeletor, Evil Lyn, He-man, Battle Cat, Orko, Man-at-Arms, Teela, Prince Adam, Screech, and Zoar.

Shelf two you have Neo. . . . . . .wait that is the poster on the wall. You have Scareglow, Tri-klops, Webstor, Whiplash, Faker, Trapjaw, Buzz-off, Roboto, Zodak, Mossman (who smells very very very strongly like a Christmas tree), Stratos, and King Randor.

Third shelf you have Grizzlor, Hordak, King Hssss, Adora, Bow, and She-ra.

and at the bottom we have a palace guard, Chief Carnivuz, Zodac, Optik, Count Marzo, and Keldor. This display case is the best ever!

Flynn Lives

So my wifewas at the Disney store and they were clearancing their Tron stuff, granted their clearance is barely a better price than buying the figure somewhere else, so she picked up a Kevin Flynn figure for. I can't wait for this movie to come out next month and they are releasing the original on Blu-ray also!

Following my habit of buying the Seeker transformers I bought Scourge since he kind of falls into that category. Besides he looks good as a plane and a robot which makes it that much better.

MOTU Sub 2011

So this month is subscription month for MOTU meaning we got the sub exclusive product with the monthly figure. So this year's sub figure is Preternia Disguise He-Man which is based on a mini comic from back in the day and you can read about it in the bio below about why he is dressed up like that. The best thing is that he comes with the Cosmic Key which is from the live action movie.

This is the monthly figure Bow from POP. Of course the bio is belwo and these figures and hands down amazing like all the others in this line. This month I also got an oversized figure of a Shadow Beast which I had to get because of the sub but I didn't really want to spend 30$ on a giant unicorn gorilla soI will try to sell it. I don't know why the bio pic doesn't appear correctly sorry I tried to fix it but it won't.

Also with the sub is a map of Etheria and the info about it is below. Once again I tried to rotate it but it would not work. So the map and Preternia He-man were only available to those who got the subscription so I like getting exclusive stuff like that.

And then like I said before that we celebrate my bday and my wife's between the two and we did that on Sunday and my sister in law made this Tron cake for me. Very cool! Thanks Karri!

Birthday continued

Ok so since my birthday is at the beginning of February and my wife's is two weeks later we usually celebrate both our brithdays together somewhere in the middle. So My sister in law gave me this SW Vinylmation Darth Vader, very cool!

Then I couldn't pass up this new lego set as first of all it is cool but second it has a Luminara Unduli minifig so hooray. Today pics from Toy Fair 2011 have started to surface so great new MOTU stuff coming including Man-E-Faces, the Faceless One, and Clawful. New Legos including sets with Quinlan Vos and Eeth Koth among others. Not much minimate news so far but I am sure we will see some good stuff. They did announce they will be doing Marvel Vs Capcom minimates which means we can get a Megaman and a Zero!!!!! Oh good times I love new toys news.

TRU wave 9 please

So my TRU didn't get wave 9 in so I ended up buying them on eBay which sucks but my happiness on receiving them today made up for it. Here we have one of my favorite characters from when I was a kid and would play as super heroes with friends, Shatterstar. I love his two bladed swords. He came with Cannonball who has a great exploding base.

Then you have Magik with a cool bampf base and then Warlock in all his wierdness.

Then you have a dark Magneto and Brown Wolverine. These ones are great too. Man I needed these new minimates as it has been an incredibly long two weeks since I started a new job new toys eases the craziness a bit. Oh yeah and this makes 950 minimates!

Its my Birthday

Well I didn't get these toys on my birthday but today is my birthday so what better way to celebrate then to post about some toys! I had some TRU rewards dollars that were going to expire so I picked up this TF animated Snarl on clearance since I really like the Grimlock that I got. He is ok in his robot form here but. . . . .

His Triceratops form is great!

Then I decided to pick up the Eternian Palace Guard set from mattycollector.com and it came the other day and I have been dying to open up some of the MOTU classics figure so I figured I would start with these guys and they are AMAZING!!!!!!

They come with two other interchangeable heads so you can have a bunch of different guards. The white guy human head on the figure above left is based on Scott Nietlich who is a Mattel guy who I have met several times at SDCC.

So the classic style Transfomers are great just like MOTUC because they take the classic look of characters and put them in a modern toy with great look and poseability. This set called Reveal the Shield is a two pack with Rodimus and Cyclonus from the TF movie and it even came with a die cast Matrix of Leadership. Here they are in their vehicle modes. I don't understand why blogger can't make my picture appear horizontal even though it is that way on my computer!

And here is Cyclonus who was Skywarp but was transformed by Unicron. So since I have all those other seekers and they are making a Thundercracker and I missed getting the Skywarp they did a few years ago (hopefully they reissue it) I think this fits in nicely with my other classic style guys.

Here we have this year's subscription's first MOTU figure. This is Vikor He-man of the North. He was the first one to protect the sword of He after King Grayskull died. So wave 37 of minimates finally showed up and they keep pumping out great minimates. This waves army builder was a doombot. One came with a Thing and the other came with the variant trenchcoat Thing.

Then there is the six armed Spiderman and a Spidey villain long awaited Lizard!

Then the best new minimate in a long time is this 90s Professor X with his hover chair! He came with an X-force Warpath. I love this hover chair it is definitely one of the best accessories to date with a minimate!

At TRU they have exclusive MAX elite heroes packs but my TRU hasn't got them in but someone returned one at my store so this pack of Special ops guys showed up on the peg so I snagged it up!

Well because of a TRU promotion with their rewards r us program during the month of December I earned a whole bunch of rewards r us dollars but since TRU didn't get in the new minimates I wanted and some of the dollars were going to expire I had to use them. So with those coupons and some TRU gift cards received at Christmas I bought this really cool Jedi T6 shuttle. Not only is the ship really great it comes with new minifigures of Shaak Ti and Saesee Tiin.

So this Comic 2 pack was supposed to be in stores but all the remaining packs planned were made internet exclusives so when BBTS put this on clearance right when I was about to ship my loot with new minimates I picked it up because it has some Rogue Squadron pilots from the books which is one of the things I still collect.

Well first of all I had to pick up this Kevin Flynn Identity Disc because it is the first time I have seen the white one! It is really cool because it has a display stand and it makes sounds and lights up! I couldn't pass it up (also it was on sale).

Dont' know why I can't get this picture to load correctly but oh well. These are wave two of the die cast vehicles. The two I had to have were the 1 man light jet and the 3 man light jet. Then I got the other two so that I could have all of them. The other two are CLU's sentry's light cycle and a grid limo. Man I loved this movie! If you haven't seen it yet then you must do so now!

Next we have a great deal I got by buying this from my best friend Kenny. This is the Masterpiece Grimlock. Here he is in Dino form with a butter knife to help give you scale.

So one of my top favorite MOTU figures as a kid has now been reincarnated in the classics line. Here you have Buzz-Off! This is of course a great looking figure and you can read his bio below. Man I can't wait to have a good shelf to put these on which will give me the excuse I am waiting for to open them all!

Here we have the first Disney store exclusive Marvel Minimate pack of the Classic Heroic age which contains Thor, Spiderman, Iron Man, and Captain America. Yes these are all characters we have plenty of already but this set is a great looking one and I especially like the Thor.

Then here we have an undead Geonosian from an episode of TCW. I had to get this one as it combines two things I really like, Star Wars and Zombies!

So originally Tokyo Mater was only released as a SDCC exlusive but they made a version with oil stains for mass retail so I had to pick him up to go with all my other Cars from that toon.

So when Halo minimates were announced I decided that I would buy a single 2 pack and call it good cause I don't want a whole other line to collect and become a completist with. I am still not going to collect to the whole line but when these showed up at TRU this week I saw this short packed pack with a UNSC Marine and the Camo Spartan and I really wanted to the Camo Spartan so I snagged it. Oh and I took the picture of them in front of the new Tron Legacy Soundtrack which I also got this week and it is incredible!!!

Then this is the pack I had previously decided I was going to buy as it has Master Chief and the Arbiter who is quite the unique and cool minimate. He has a new head design and flipped back legs and the cool weapon he comes with (sorry all you Halo fans I don't know the specific names) is awesome looking.

Then I saw the M12 Warthog LRV mini vehicle and it looked so amazing I had to snag it as well and it comes with a Spartan. This mini vehicle is by far the coolest looking one they have made so far.

So they have continued to make these vintage style figures, but to keep spending down and because some of them shouldn't even be made (i.e. figures from the prequel trilogy) this is one that I just had to have. The Mon Calamari Admiral Ackbar. I love this character and I am so glad they gave him the vintage treatment.

I also picked up a Clone Wars Shaak Ti because A. she looks cool and 2. the one I already have from Episode II is posed in a permanent position so this figures poseability is much better.

So the cashier aisle at Target had this mini Toy Story 3 lego set of the army guy with his jeep so Isnagged it.

Here we have some galactic heroes of Barris Offee and Quinlan Vos. Ihad to get this pack since they are both Jedi and Mara loves Barris because I got her a doll of her.

So I went to the Disney store at my mall because I am keeping an eye out for an exclusive Marvel Minimate set that they will be carrying and to my surprise the store is carrying vinylmations. They had the Nightmare Before Christmas ones so I picked up this Pumpkin head Jack Skellington.

They also just put a TRU Express in the mall and they had this newest version of Soundwave in his Cybertronian form. I didn't take a pic of him in his vehicle mode because frankly I don't like it. His robot mode though I think is one of the best incarnations of Soundwave yet!

This is one of the best minimate sets yet. This is the TRU Exclusive Captain America Through the Ages set that was voted on by fans to choose the line up. This set includes from left to right- WWII Cap, Armored Cap, Cap Reborn, and Suspended Animation Cap. As Captain America is one of my four favorite super heroes I already love this set but it also gets me psyched for the upcoming movie starring Chris Evans, its going to be legen. . . . . .wait for it. . . . . dary!

Exclusives from a different comic con

So the NYCC (New York Comic Con) happened a few weekends back and they had some exclusive sets which got to me today. First we have the New Mutants which includes Wolfsbane, Cannonball, Karma, and Sunspot. At NYCC they also showed an upcoming wave of TRU minimates with a much cooler looking Cannonball.

Then we have two sets from the Age of Apocalypse series in which Xavier is dead and Magneto takes over his dream and creates the X-men team. Here we have Magneto, his wife Rogue, Cyclops and Sunfire. I love the extra head for Magneto that makes him look more sinister.

Then this set has Wolverine, Jean Grey, Dark Beast and the bad guy from this universe Apocalypse. These sets are all fairly random in terms of mainstream stuff but they are new Marvel minimates and I love me some of that!

So I had to go to a meeting in SLC for work today and I got up there early enough to go to the Walmart up the street and to my joy I found they next TF Generations Seeker DIRGE! I was very excited as I love the seekers and love these generations/classic versions. Now I just need to get the Skywarp made a few years back and they need to make a Thundercracker and I will have em all!

Ok so there was a TRU wave of minivehicles and now a comic store wave so here is the Frosted Delorean with Marty in his radioactive gear.

Here he is with his mask down (I am Darth Vader from the planet Vulcan!) and his video camera. Can't wait for the 25th anniversary BTTF set!

Then here we have the Terminator Hunter Killer tank which comes with a pretty cool resistance soldier.

And the tank opens in the back to put in an exoskeleton! These are cool but I really wouldn't mind if they didn't make anymore because it costs too much to buy a vehicle I don't really care about to get the minimate that I do care about!

So I picked up some great new toys from the Cars Toons series as you can see in past posts these are some really cute and cool looking toys. This is from my favorite of them all the UFO episode and this is Mator the UFO! Dad Gum he is cute.

Here we have another one from Tokyo Mater, this is Kyandee and she is also very adorable. I had to get this one since I knew Mara would love it!

My sister in law went to Disneyland again and she picked up this Vinylmation figure of my favorite Muppet Rowlf. These are Mickey figures that are painted as different characters or just with cool paint jobs so thanks Karri!

TRON!!!!! Is Back in force!

So Tron Legacy comes out in about 2 months and the toys are starting to hit in force and I just eat it up so here we have the first of two TRU exclusive 3 packs of mini diecast vehicles. This set includes Sam Flynn's Light Cycle, Kevin Flynn's Light Cycles and a Light Runner (the new car thing).

This is the other 3 pack which includes CLU's command ship, CLU's Light Cycle and a Recognizer. Very, very cool! I just wish that they would release some vintage style stuff to celebrate this new movie too.

Then here we have a 6" figure of Sma Flynn that has a light up chest and the coolest new feature that when you push a button his helmet lights up and his face moves and it says some movie lines. What a very unique and cool feature!

Then I found a 3 and 3/4 inch figure size Light Cycle at the Disney store last night that lights up! I also got a cool Tron Legacy zip up hoodie. I wish I could go to Disneyland right now as they have set up a Flynn's arcade with elecTRONica tokens and I'm sure lots of other cool Tron stuff! Man I can't wait for this movie it is going to legen. . . . .wait for it. . . . . dary!!!!

So the newest wave of TRU exclusive minimates is actually a wave of Fantastic Four minimates and I LOVE this wave. First here we have an incredible looking Sue Storm and then our very first Mole Man (although the cape they made him with makes it very difficult to stand him up).

Here we have a great new version of the Thing and Human Torch.

Then we have Mr Fantastic and Dr Doom (I really like the look of this Doom).

Then you have an Atlantean Soldier and Namor.

And this is the cool little poster that came in each set. The upcoming wae of minimates also has more Things in it but also some other super cool characters so I can't wait till those show up. . . . . oh and by the way these last bunches of minimates puts me at a total of 904 total unique minimates! So 1000 here I come!

Ok so Minimates now have the Universal Monsters license and will be releasing minimates from a few of these classic movies every year before Halloween. There are TRU exclusive waves and comic book store waves and I have decided to just stick with the TRU waves so that I don't have to pay shipping. This first package here is the Wolfman and Larry Talbot.

Then here we have a glow in the dark Creature from the Black Lagoon and transformation Wolfman.

Here we have the Creature from the Black Lagoon and Dr. Reed (or as I like to call him Scuba Steve).

The the TRU exclusive pack is a black and white version of both the Creature and the Wolfman. Other movies slated to be released in this collection are Dracula, the Mummy, Invisible Man, and Frankenstien. Pretty cool.

So my mother in law and sister in law went to Disneyland this last weekend and my sister in law looked out for me and picked up these very unique cool set at the Star Tours shop. This is the Boarding Party set which includes a Star Tours Officer, Kaink the Ewok, Teek (who has never been done before and if you don't know who he is you need to go watch your Ewok movies!), then you have Ree-Yees with his awesome camera (that he shouldn't use on the ride) and Chewbacca. I can't wait to see what changes they make to this ride as it is one of my favorites (big surprise).

Well its been a while. Not since my last post but since I had a day to post a bunch of different toys. I have been cutting back on my toy purcahses the last little while but today I saw some things that although not on my list of wants were just things I really wanted to buy. This first one though is of course my monthly MOTU figure coming in the mail and this is a figure of a character from the 200x series. This is Chief Carnivus and you can read his bio below but this is like always a great looking figure!

Then here we have some Galactic Heroes which I have been fairly picky with lately in terms of what I do and don't buy. This here is Pre Viszla and a Mandolorian Soldier. I had a Target gift card so getting these for free in essence was a no brainer!
Then I also picked up this Cad Bane and Aurra Sing set since they go nicely with my other bounty hunters.

Then if you haven't watched the Cars Toons with Mater and his tall tales then you should start my favorite is Tokyo Mater (you can see the Lightning McQueen in a post a while back) but since they were on sale I picked up this Kabuto

and this Komodo. I love the looks of the cars from this episode and will likely get the other ones too.

And then last the new line of GI Joes is largely unimpressive but I came across this Jungle Viper who has this great camoflauge that makes him look really cool and a great looking sniper rifle and my favorite Cobras are the Vipers so I snagged this guy up. So there is the lot of random of things that I have picked up the last few days.

So this is the mail away figure for the SW vintage wave of figures shown a few posts back. It came today and it is a recreation of the Holy Grail of all SW vintage figures, the missile firing Boba Fett. Because the firing missile was deemed a hazard the old ones never actually got released so the ones out there were early prototypes etc. So this is a great throwback to that figure and especially since they made this figure look very much like the vintage figure it is very cool. Also the card came unpunched which is nifty. My only complaint is the box that hasbro sent it to me in was seriously mangled so it is amazing the figure didn't have more damage than it did (a slight dent in the bubble and the bubble detached slightly from the card).

Ok so I am more excited for the upcoming Tron Legacy movie than about any movie I can think of since Star Wars movies were coming out (and that is saying a lot since I like a lot of different movies) so when I saw that the figures were on the pegs at TRU yesterday I got very very excited! I did control myself however realizing that I can't just buy all of them so I looked over the four they had and chose this CLU figure. The figure has great articulation and if you push a button on the back there are two strips on his chest that light up. Now if you remember in the first movie CLU is the name of the program that Kevin Flynn is using to break into the system at the beginning of the movie. My guess is that this is the same program as it says that CLU rules the Tron world and the previews shows a Jeff Bridges character that says he is not Sam's father. But I guess I won't know for sure utnil December 17th as that is when this movie comes out. . . . . .not soon enough!

Here is a figure from wave 2 of the IM2 figures. This is the Hulkbuster armor and I just love this bulked up armor. It looks cool and I haven't got anything IM in a while so finding this guy made my day!

Enjoying the small things in life!

All right so this post is dedicated to all the small collectibles that I so adore. This first thing was given to me by my best friend Kenny. This is the World's Smallest TF OPtimus Prime with his trailer. I have a world's smallest Soundwave and Thrust as well and so adding this one to my collection is great. I really love the little pod on the arm in the trailer. There are no references here to tell size but this Optimus only measures 2 inches tall!

Now here we have the first wave of TRU exclusive minimates with vehicles. This here is the Delorean with Marty (there will be a PX version that has a frosted Delorean and Marty in his radioactive suit which I will also be getting) This is a great looking addition to the BTTF minimates I LOVE IT. We just watched the first movie with the kids and they loved it too and were excited to get to play with this when I opened it today.

Then Diamond Select is also doing a line of their own characters called MAX (Mobile Attack Xtreme) and this is the first one which is really cool (but I am not convinced I will be getting all of these). You have the pilot and his jet which can be combined and customized with other jets if you buy them or you can. . . .

Change it to a jet pack! There is a red version of this same thing for the PX wave but I am most likely not getting that.

Then we have something I have wanted since I first saw the preview pic last year. I haven't collected SW Kubricks because they are just too expensive to get them all although there are quite a few I would like this is the first one I just had to have and that is simply because this C3PO came with a Salacious Crumb to sit on his shoulder! I love this very nearly as much as I love the last thing in this post. . . . . .

So last year at SDCC DST previewed a minimate playset that was to come with a generic soldier and a Battle Beast minimate because DST acquired the license for Battle Beasts. Well that playset never ended up coming out but at Toyfare then at C2E2 and then at SDCC DST handed out different versions of the Gator BB minimate to people at these shows, none of which I attended of course. And all of these have been a hot item on eBay going for way more money than I wanted to spend even though I wanted this minimate more than almost any other minimate to date (and out of almost 900 that is saying something). So last week I bid on an eBay auction for this SDCC Golden Gator in no way expecting to win but I did and to make it even sweeter it was only 10$ with free shipping!!!!!! So he finally arrived in the mail today and I could not be more happy with him. This is in my top five favorite minimate of all time. I love this and beg and plead for DST to make more BB minimate and then sell them to the public not just give them away at shows that I can't go to!!!!

Whiplash but not the one from Iron Man

So this month's MOTUC figure is none other than Whiplash. This version comes with his vintage style head on and his 200x head in the package to switch it out if you want to. It also comes with the big axe like weapon that the 200x figure came with. scroll down for his bio! This line continues to be one of the best toy lines of all time and I can't wait for some upcoming figures in cluding Buzz-Off and Roboto among others.

So this is my last SDCC product even though it isn't really. You see Mattel sold this MOTUC Orko at the show but the SDCC version turns see through in water and the little spell book shows a SDCC logo in warm water. This version that I got is just the normal versino that I ordered on Mattycollector.com (well I should say my lovely wife ordered it for me). So you have Orko here with his bio below but the best part of this great figure is that the accesory for the figure is Prince Adam that you can see hiding int he bottom of the package! What a cool way to get that figure into the line. Since Orko is too small to be charging full price for they just put Adam in there and bumped the price up 5$ and voila a great addition to MOTUC!

Well once again here is more stuff that came in the mail from SDCC (one more box to go). This is the rest of the minimate stuff. Here we have the Slime Blower Box set from GB2. This one has all four of the GBs in it and since I already have a bunch of them I am keeping this one in its package for now.

Here we have an X-Force set with Domino, Deadpool, Cable, and Feral. I love the Deadpool in this set he is totally wicked!

Then here we have a 90s X-Men set we have Bishop, battle damaged Wolverine, Jubilee, and Asteroid M Magneto. We only need a few more 90s X-Men to have them all and we are getting Professor X in an upcoming wave so wahoo! I spent a good amount of time last night rearranging shelves because I am running out of good display room for my piles and piles of minimates!

So here is more SDCC stuff showing up in the mail. As you can see fromt he very cool packaging in the back this is Blaster the autobot counterpart to my favorite of all transformers Soundwave. Blaster is a bigger boombox who even has a handle on the top. He cam with three tapes Eject (the blue tape), Steeljaw (the yellow tape) and Ramhorn (the red tape). I simply could not pass up the chance to have at least one Blaster to display with all of my Soundwaves!

Here they all are in their transformed modes!

Here we have a box set from SDCC (that I got on eBay not realizing that I could've waited and purchased on Mattycollector tomorrow, oh well I will be getting Orko that way) This is based on a Robot Chicken sketch where Mo-Larr the Eternian Dentist comes to remove Skeletors tooth. Skeletor sends out Grizzlor and Beast Man to get rid of him and you can see what happened to them in the next picture. I think it is awesome that Mattel actually made a figure set of this as it is one of my favorite RC sketches (as are most of the MOTU sketches) Mo-Larr even comes with all his dentist tools! So this is a very depressing weekend because I am at home and not at SDCC. It is tru that there is lots of new toy news and we get to see the things that will be hotly anticipated until their release but its just not the same looking on the computer instead of being there. But to help ease the pain TRU got in the second wave of IM2 exclusive minimates and here we have the non-battle damaged Mark VI and a Ground Assault Drone.

And here we have Lt Col James Rhodes and an Air Assault Drone. Although the drones are should have been variations they look identical to me so really there are only two new minimates here which puts my total up to 855 but never fear there are at least 16 more coming to me in the next few weeks so stay tuned! On and by the way if you haven't watched the newest trailer for Tron Legacy please click here and check it out because it will BLOW YOUR MIND! I cannot wait for this movie and you should feel the same way!

I have been waiting for this one since rumor of it leaked, like, forever ago! We went on a drive today up to Salt Lake and so I stopped by a TRU up there and what to my surprise should I find? The new Galactic Heroes AT-AT! This is a great looking toy with sound and action features and its cute to boot! I love getting toys I want that my wife also thinks are cool! Now they need a GH A-wing, B-Wing, and Y-Wing and I will be content.

Wampa

So this summer's new wave of SW lego shops have hit and although there are a bunch of really cool ones, this is the one that I just had to have. This is the Hoth Wampa cave set. As you can see there is a Wampa (a first) and his cave where you can hang Luke upside down, a skeleton and a rip cage of some past animal meal. You also get a Snowspeeder wtih Zev Senesca.

That snowspeeder is the fourth version so far so here is a picture of all four versions of the lego snowspeeder thus far.

Yesterday was also MOTU day and Count Marzo showed up in the mail. Very cool looking, read on for his full bio. I am excited as next week is SDCC and they will be announcing a whole bunch of upcoming figures for this line!

Something Strange

So the very very cool fourth wave of TRU Ghostbusters minimates has arrived. (These are even cooler to me as I have just watched the movies with my son and he loved them). First we have a rehash of Slimer and Venkman.

Next we have a Slime Blower Ray and the theater ghost which I would venture to guess used the most unique pieces of any minimate to date!

Then here we have the Subway Ghost and the Mayor.

And last we have Janosz and the Statue of Liberty which is now one of my all time favorites. If you take off the robe there is a tampo on the front of the minimate of the four GBs riding inside with pink goo oozing down. Very cool. Even when you think that is all there is for GB minimates there are atleast two more box sets still to come!

Iron Man Galore!

It was a good week for Iron Man minimates and minimates in general. First off we have here the TRU exclusives that go along with the IM wave. Here we have the very very very cool looking Hulkbuster Iron Man along with a Gamma Hulk to fight with.

Then we have Betsy Braddock (who later becomes Psylocke) and Lockjaw (a character I am not really familiar with) which is cool to get the first Marvel dog type minimate (we already have a BSG one and a GB one).

Then we have a new version of Silver Centurion Iron Man along with long anticipated Crimson Dynamo!

Then we have Neo-Classic Iron Man and Stilt Man the tallest of all minimates! (I also bought an extra one of this pack at TRU so I added and extra set of legs to my Stilt Man so he is extra extra tall!)

Then we have the Variant for wave 36 which is the classic Mandarin and you also have modern Manderin and the army builder for this wave is Hydras Dreadnoughts! I love IM minimates and am glad there are still a couple more coming from the TRU IM 2 collection so stay tuned!

So Hasbro has done several waves of what they call the Vintage Collection which are new figures on reproductions of vintage cards. The new mail away figure for is shown on the sticker on the package and it is a missile firing Boba Fett made to look a lot more like the vintage figure. I have already sent in my upcs for this. So I didn't get all of the new wave of these because some of them were done in a previous vintage wave and to my glee TRU was having a buy one get one 50% off sale so the fact that these figures are more expensive than others was somewhat negated. Here we have Hoth Leia.

So when I was a kid my parents got me and my borthers each a seeker G1 Transformer. Morri got Skywarp, Ben got Dirge, and I got Thrust. I loved them all (since they all eventually got passed down to me) but Thrust has always been my favorite. Well they finally made the updates classics version of Thrust that I found yesterday at TRU and I couldn't be more happy!

And with the other two classics seekers that I have, Starscream and Ramjet. My friend Kenny who is the Trasformers king also told me that they are going to do a Dirge too (there is also a Skywarp that came out a while ago that I don't have but I want a lot). These are great looking updates of awesome transformers.

Well here we have at long last a Keldor figure in my collection that I was given for Father's Day! Keldor is Skeletor before he was Skeletor and well you can read the bio below. The 200x line had a SDCC exclusive Keldor figure that came with a Keldor head, an acid burning head, and a Skeletor head and he is one of the only two figures I didn't get from that line so I was so excited to get this figure today!!!!!

So the third box set for Ghosbusters got to me in the mail today and it includes a gooey version of Egon and Winston along with Walter Peck (he has marshmallow on his head but also comes with a normal hairpiece) and we also get Janine Melnitz.

If you take the new Gooey Egon and Winston and add the existing Ray and then take a new haripiece this set came with and put it on Peter then you can create the final gooey scene from Ghostbusters!

I also got an exclusive set from the C2E2 show which is the Stark Expo set froma deleted scene from Iron Man 2. You have Stark Expo Tony and Natalie Romanova (yeah she is a great looking minimate!)

Then I also got this months mattycollector subscription which is She-Ra Princess of Power! Mara was so excited when I opened this up she wanted me to open it out of the package right away. I had to explain that it goes with all my other ones still in their package (although I do plan on opening this some day when I have the proper space to display them in.

And here (I don't why I can't get it to appear not sideways) is the back of the card with the great little history snippet for She-Ra. I will be getting another MOTUC figure this week so be prepared for more awesomeness!

So here is a picture with my three kids. Jaina Emilie Tolman (or JET) was born last Friday May 28th at 7:30 PM, she weighed 7 pounds 9 ounces and was 20 and 1/2 inches long. She is great and Mara and Xander love her to death, as do I!

So the 25th anniversary collection of TMNT figures had a second wave that was to include Shredder, Casey Jones, FootSoldier, and Slash. I got Donatello from the first wave of course but the second wave never came to stores ot online anywhere that I looked so I gave up trying to find Slash who is the one that I wanted. Yesterday I decided I should go and check Ross for any new deals (see post about the Defense of Cobra Island GI Joe set) and to my amazement not only did I find this here Slash but he was only 5$ instead of 10$! So here he is, happy to be in my collection!

This month's MOTU Classics figure is the first from the early 90s series The New Adventures of He-Man or as I like to call it He-Man in space. This is a great looking figure though his name is Optikk and rather than typing out his bio like I have done in the past you can just read it below!

This is the Lightning McQueen that comes with this year's collector book. He is from the Cars Toon show and he is called Dragon McQueen. I bought him for myself as Xander has moved on from wanting these toys and I think he looks cool.

Great Movie Great Minimates

My Iron Man 2 minimates showed and none too soon! I saw the movie last week and it was awesome and so I wanted these guys to show up asap. Here we have War Machine and the Mark V suit (suitcase suit).

Here we have two Hammer Drones with Pepper Potts and the variant Happy Hogan carrying the suitcase suit.

And last we have the Mark IV suit and Whiplash. Believe it or not there are still more IM minimates on the way and oh I am so excited for the next comic wave and TRU exclusives coming out. Not many words today for these but they are very very awesome.

Battle Tactics

So shopafx.com made this exclusive Iron Man 2 set for the C2E2 (that is the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo) that they put on their website after the convention and it came in the mail today to make me oh so happy. We have Battle Damaged Mark VI IM and War Machine we also have Tony in his Stark racing outfit and then we have the Samuel L Jackson version of Nick Fury. More IM2 stuff to come!

End of Semester goodness

Well I took my last final today for the semester and hopefully of all time! So now I have some time of not thinking about school to get caught up here. First off we have some more IM2 minimates, these ones are the TRU exclusives. We have here James Rhodes in the Mark II armor and then we have Black Widow (The best looking female minimate yet!)

Then we have here Senate Hearing Tony Stark (in the middle) and he comes with a Mark I that if you take off the armor makes the Tuxedo Tony on the right.

Then here is a Borders Exclusive pack which includes the Mark IV armor with Sunglass wearing Tony and he comes with a BD Whiplash. We still have the whole wave 35 coming as well as some exclusive packs from C2E2 that I will get in the not to distant future, not to mention the movie itself coming out in a few weeks.

Then today I got my April MOTU figure which is Evil-Lyn. She comes with Screech and she looks awesome. Her card says, "Raised by her father in the ruins of Zalesia, Evelyn left her home in a fit of teenage rebellion. Taking the name Evil-Lyn, she traveled Eternia learning from many of its great masters the way of magice and the dark arts. While searching for new ways to increase her power, she met and fell in love with an ambitious alchemist names Keldor and agreed to join his cause. After Keldor was transformed into Skeletor, he lost all emotional attachments to Evil-Lyn and she began to scheme against him. Then this month I also got the subscription exclusive figure Wun-Dar who, in the vintage line, was going to be an exclusive mail away figure from Wonder Bread but it never happened. He does however come with a loaf of Eternian bread! His card says, "One hundred years before Prince Adam was born, Wun-dar, a warrior from deep in the savage underground city of Tundaria, rescued a young woman who turned out to be The Goddess of Eternia. She provided him with cosmic battle armor and a sophisticated ray gun that could tap into almost unlimited power. The Goddess tasked Wun-dar to protect both halves of the sword of He and keep them apart lest they fall into the hands of evil. Like many warriors before him, Wun-dar became known as "the He-Man" battling in a savage way to keep evil from obtaining the key to the great power hidden inside the long forgotten Castle Grayskull."

And if that wasn't enough the subscription exclusive also came with a map of Eternia! So now when the backs of these cards refer to certain places I will know where they are. The map says on it "Gifted with the Wisdom of Ages, the Elders of Grayskull secretly knew that the twin warriors of the Great Prophecy would one day be born on their planet. Therefore, they made a secret bargain with Trolla. In return for keeping the Power Sword of He on Eternia, one member of the Elders was to join the Cosmic Enforcers, being tasked with maintaining neutrality throughout the Universe. The sword was then split in two and hidden, awaiting a time when worthy heirs would reclaim it, channeling its power and thier wisdom to transform into heroic Master of the Universe, fulfilling the prophecy to defeat the Horde Empire and restore peace to the Universe." I love that all these card backs tie into one big averarching story.

So this here is the mail away exclusive Clone Wars figure of Nahdar Vebb the Mon Calamari Jedi. This if a great looking figure but I still don't know if I am going to open him for my characters with lightsabers shelf or not! Where he is a rare figure I probably won't open him but you never know, I did just open all of my 25th anniversary GI Joes!

Low quality yet high enjoyment

Got some more minimates (I am now at 811 total!) This here is the Spiderman Friends and Foes set which has some great minimates but the quality isn't that great as I had to glue Doc Oc's tentacles on his back because they wouldn't stick like they were supposed to and the paint job and most of them isn't the best. We have Vulture here (the only completely new character in the set), Black Cat, BD Spiderman, and Doc Oc.

Then I got the box of Iron Man 2 singles of the bad guy drones. Here we have Tactical Assault Drone, BD Hammer Drone, and Justine Hammer.

Then here we have Air Assault Drone, Sea Assault Drone, and Ground Assault Drone. These are all really cool but the plastic they are made of seems really cheap so I feel a little cheated out of how much they cost. That's ok though as the box came with 6 other duplicate drones that I have already sold to a member on my forum so I made back almost half of what I spent.

Then here was something that I just couldn't pass up and don't regret as it is so awesome. This is Mohawk the Gremlin from Gremlins 2 that drinks the spider juice and turns into the big spider and gets shot by Rambo Gizmo with the flaming paper clip bow in the movie. This is a great looking figure that brings me a lot of joy as I love Gremlins.

So Hasbro is not going to be making the Star Wars Comic 2 packs anymore (which is lame since there were a bunch announced that I really wanted) so these two sets are the last (other than a retailer exclusive that is available online now that is just a little too much for me to buy right now of some more rogue squadron pilots). Here we have Jedi T'ra Saa and Master Tholme.

and from TOTJ we have Exar Kun and Ulic Qel Droma. I love EU figures and having them be jedi is even better!

Well this month's MOTU figure showed up speedily! Here we have Moss Man complete with pine fresh scent! His card reads, " Thought of for many centuries to be an urban legens, the creature called "Moss Man" was in fact an ancient Eternian nature god and ally to King Grayskull. During the rise of Skeletor and the subsequent battles with the Snake Men and Horde invaders, Moss Man often joined forces with the Masters of the Universe helping to protect freedom for all forms of life. He was instrumental in helping them win the Second Ultimate Battleground using his powers over plant life and his "fur" of forest green to fool and frustrate his wicked foes."

I got my waves 33 and 34 in the mail today for Marvel minimates still going strong. This wave has Hellfire Club Guards and then Black Queen Jean Gret (left) and the variant Black Queen Selene.

Then you have the 90s comic and cartoon versions of Beast and Rogue,

and 90s Cyclops and Jean Grey.

The other wave comes with some really great looking Sentinels with different arm attachments and flight bases, then you have Rachel Grey (left) and the variant Rachel Summers with her Phoenix force base.

Then you have Thor and Lady Loki

and last you have Anti-Venom and Menace with a really cool flight base. Hopefully that cools down the toy incomings for a while as my wallet really needs a break!

So this GI Joe 25th anniversary set of the Defense of Cobra island has been a large desire of mine since I first saw upcoming pictures of it early last year. But it was released with a Joe set that I didn't care about and this was only available online and you had to buy both sets to get it and getting this one Cobra set on ebay was way too much so I had given up trying to get it. Then I saw a post on a forum I go to saying that Ross (yes the dress for less store) had these for 16.99 (when normally they are 30 $ each!) So I cruised over to our local Ross and BAM they had it so I picked it up and as you can see I have already opened it up because the figures are great and I am now thinking I will probably open up the rest of my 25th Joes and have them all on display.

So here is a boxed picture of the set which includes (from right to left) Dr. Mindbender, Lamprey, Range Viper, Alley Viper (my favorite), Night Creeper, B.A.T. (battle damaged version) and Air Viper.

Also at Ross they had some internet exclusive (why they get these I don't know) of some SW mighty muggs that I normally wouldn't buy but they were only 5$! so here we have Wicket.

TRU and Trade

Last thursday TRU got their 6th wave of exclusive Marvel Minimates in (but not the Ghostbusters ones darnit). This pack is Stretch Attack Mr. Fantastic (and he has a really cool and unique wrapup base to replace his normal legs) and then you have World War Hulk from Planet Hulk which was a comic event and a Marvel animated movie that we watched recently.

Next we have Klaw and Secret Wars Storm (with her punk mowhawk).

Then we have battle damaged Wolverine and a cool new Captain America.

Last we have the 1st appearance Iron Man Mighty Mugg which I procured ina trade on my forum with ragincajun713. I almost got this Mugg at Walmart a while ago but my impatience with their stupid systme not being able to ring it up when I wanted to buy it meant that I passed it up so now I have through this trade.

Iron Man 2 toys hit shelves this week so like the IM sucker that I am I picked up a bunch. This here is the token keep it in the package Stealth Operations Iron Man.

Here we have War Machine, his guns flip back which is cool and each figure comes with a three part armor card that is nifty.

Here we have the new armor for the upcoming movie which is the mark vi and this here figure has a glowing chest when you push his head down!

This is Hypervelocity Armor.

Then here we have another picture that won't load up correctly but it shows you on the bottom the first mini lego X-wing they did and then the one just released that is much much coolor. (I put the old one in for comparison)

They also did them in attack shuttle.

I also picked up this IM bobblehead because he is in the classic design which I love.

Then last but certainly not least I have a couple of free gifts from my best friend Kenny who gave me this awesome GOUF Custom Gundam, this is not the first one he has given me but it definitely the coolest.

He also gave me this die cast incredible Delorian. It doesn't fit my BTTF minimated though which was a bummer but this is sweet and it even has a switch on the bottom to flip the wheels out into hover mode.

So since Mattycollector stuff doesn't go on sale until the 15th of each month these two birthday presents are a little belated but incredible and awesome nonetheless! First we have Trap Jaw, given to me by Breanne, which if you scroll down to the bottom of my blog you wil know he is one of my all time favorite MOTU characters. His card says, "An insane criminal from the dimension of Infinita, Kronis was one of several evil warriors freed from an intergalactic prison by Keldor to bolster his ranks during the start of the Great Unrest. After serving Keldor for years, Kronis grew ambitious and raised an army of his own to challenge his master. Now a powerful overlord of Evil, Skeletor, defeated Kronis - breaking his jaw and arm and leaving him for dead. Found and rebuilt by Tri-Klops, Kronis was transformed by him into Trap Jaw, a man armed with combat weapons and an "Iron Jaw!"" I love this figure and the added coolness comes because he comes with an extra arm and head so that you can make him be Kronis and then transform him into Trap Jaw! My woes with my mattycollector subscription are not over but I think they are under control enough to just be happy that I am getting these figures!

Next (sorry I don't know why it won't make the picture appear correctly) is Battle Cat, given to me by my mother-in-law. This is the first over sized figure and it is so amazing that it makes my eyeballs pop out of my head! His package reads, "A member of the Green Tiger Tribe, Cringer was saved from a parek-narr attack by a young Prince Adam and afterwards became his devoted companion for life. He assisted Adam during his quest to unite both halves of the Power Sword of He and afterwards was enhanced by its power to become Battle Cat, the fighting tiger of He-Man. Cringer is one of only a handful of allies who knows Adam's secret and fights alongside the other Masters of the Universe carrying He-Man into battle against the forces of evil." I told myself that once I have a really good display case I am going to open all these figures because I can't handle not being able to play with their amazingness. This toy here only enhances my desire to want to open them! For now they will just adorn my wall in all of the coolness!

So Hasbro is doing an exclusive mail away figure for Nahdar Vebb who is the Mon Calamari Jedi who was Kit Fisto's padawan who is seen in the episode Grievous' Lair on The Clone Wars series. So I have purchased several figures so I can send the upcs away to get this figure. The first here is the one of these figures that I actually really wanted and it is Hondo Ohnaka who comes with his pet red Kowakian monkey lizard. This is a unique and cool figure and I couldn't pass it up because of the pet KML!

Then I got this figure of Aayla Secura because my current version is from Episode II and she is posed, not poseable and so this version is much cooler.
She also came with flight gear.

And this here is another qualifying figure that I didn't have a real excuse to get until this promotion. This is the best looking and articulated Yoda they have made so far and he even comes with a cloth robe so he is uber cool! I also used the upcs from my Cad Bane and concept Snowtrooper figures and have mailed away for the Nahdar figure so I am excited to get that one!

So my brother in law JR had this Thunderhawk MASK toy when he was a kid and he had given it to his son Noah to play with (which makes me cringe since giving vintage toys to smaller children often spells doom) But Noah was kind to the toy and he outgrewit I guess so for my birthday last week my sister Lana and Noah came over to my brothers and gave me a box and I open it to see this and it was the biggest suprise presnt I have had in a long long time and one of the best presents too!

Here is me in my happiness!

Its a Masterpiece!

So the Japanes versions of Masterpiece Transformers usually go for a minimum of 100$ which is why I always end up getting the American Walmart exclusive version because it is cheaper. Well They released Skywarp (one of my favorite Seekers) but I couldn't bring myself to spend 60$ dollars for it which is Walmarts much better price. Well as incredible as these things are, they just don't sell that well so they just went on clearance for 30$ and that put it in the range where I had to snag one. So here you have MP Skywarp next to the commerative edition of the vintage Skywarp.

Then here we have the two Seekers along with my MP (Walmart version again) of Optimus Prime and then my Alternator (which are just about as cool as MP versions) of Grimlock. These are the best of pretty much all Transformers in all of always. Anyway, yesterday was my birthday and I got something I need to post here and I am sure there will be more in the upcoming weeks.

Tron Legacy!

So here are some pictures from the upcoming Tron Legacy movie out in theaters in December. As the original Tron is one of my favorite movies of all time. I am quite excited for this! I saw the teaser (if that is what it is called) after the Race to Witch Mountain Panel at SDCC in 2008 and it has been a long wait but I am so excited! The updates look awesome. Enjoy!

When it comes to Iron Man stuff I tend to be a sucker. And when I saw these TRU Exclusive Iron Man 2 Mighty Muggs it was no exception! Here we have the new Mark VI Iron Man.
And here we have War Machine! It has been a long time since I have even seen new Mighty Muggs so getting these was great.

Currently my collecting consists of 3 major things; minimates, MOTU, and Star Wars. This post represent all three of those so in other words this was a good week! First off lets go through Marvel minimates waves 31 and 32. First here we have the Variant Silver Age Angel and then another normal Angel (the version after he gets transformed back from Archangel) and then the army builder for this wave is Multiple Man (shown here in his two possible versions).

Next we have the other waves variant of Goliath and then Yellowjacket and the army building Kree Soldiers.

Here we have Captain Brittain and Shadowcat with the coolest minimate accessory yet Lockheed!

Next we have the overly armed X-Force Cable and X-Force X-23. (from the same weapon X program and Wolverine and created using his DNA).

Then here we have the alternate versions of Iron Man and Titanium Man (their normal versions were shown a few posts back purchased from TRU).

Here we have Captain Marvel and Black Bolt. All in all some good waves although nothing like what we will have coming up with minimates like a Sentinel and the Jim Lee X-Men!
Here we have Adora who is also She-Ra for you not in the know. This is the frist time they have made a figure of Adora so it is cool, the back of her card reads, "When Adora and her twin brother Adam were born, the Sorceress recognized they were the twins prophesized to wield the Power of Grayskull. She therefore magically cloned the Sword of He, enhancing it with the Stone of Protection so that each twin could have a key to unlock the Power. But Hordak also learned of the twins and arranged for his Eternian pupil Skeletor to abduct the infants. Man-At-Arms prevented Adam from being taken, but Adora was stolen away to the planet of Etheria deep in the Dimension of Despondos. There she was raised by Hordak, until the day her brother returned, handing her her sword which she held aloft to become She-Ra, the most powerful woman in the universe!" Thankfully my mattycollector subscription went off without a hitch this time and hopefully it will continue that way for next month as Trap Jaw, one of my all time favs comes along!

Next we have SW figure which I have slowly convinced myself to lessen what I buy, here we have Snowtrooper based on a concept drawing by Joe Johnston from Episode V. I love this concept figures so I couldn't pass this one up.
I also love me some SW lego and try as I might I could not get this picture to show up in the post the correct way so you will have to live with it sideways! This is a Republic Swamp Speeder which is cool as I love the Clone vehicles but it also comes with the new Barris Offee minifigure. That will probably do it for now, it may be a while before I post anything so until then. . . .bye bye.

Variations

So TRU released a best of Ghostbusters minimates wave with two packs from wave 1 and two packs from wave 2. These are packs that have already been done but there are two variations that popped up so I had to snag them. First you have clear slimer and this one has a full tummy, you can see the food in his stomach as opposed to the first one you couldn't.
Then here we have Louis Tully who in the first release had a name tag that said Tully on it. However in the movie he wears one of Egon's outfits so this correction has Louis with a Spengler name tag as it is supposed to be. Also his shoulder straps and green and the first release they were gray. So being the completist I am I had to pick these up. They also announced a full and completely new wave three for TRU coming soon with a bunch of new ghosts and ghostbusters so I am most excited for that wave.
Then here we have the third variation for this post and the one zillionth variation of Soundwave that I own. This is Electrostatic Soundwave with Buzzsaw as a keytar. I love Sounwave too much to pass this up, although it did take me a while to convince myself to buy it I just knew in the end I had to have him. (Despite his vehicle form being a super ugly boxy car). I haven't posted a lot lately but I have a bunch of minimates in the mail on their way to me so wahoo!
