Ben Folds and Civil War

So Wednesday night Breanne and I went to the Great Saltair to go to the Ben Folds Concert (this was the only picture we got since the guy at the door saw our camera and made us take it back to the car. . . . .LAME!) It was awesome there isn't a single musical artist I love more than Ben Folds. There were way to many opening acts (4) and Saltair has no seating so it was standing crushed in a crowd for four hours so I will never go back there again but Ben was AWESOME! I love his music and he played three songs from his new album that he announced he just finished. It was tiring but awesome, I am so glad he came to Utah since the last time I saw him was the Big Ass Show in like 1998!
Well probably the coolest minimate box set came in the mail today. This Civil War set was released at the New York Comic Con and then went on sale at Shopafx.com the monday after the convention so I ordered one Monday morning and here it is in all of its awesomeness. There is Nitro (who is a key catalyst for the whole Civil War story) Then you have prisoner Cap' with his first time ever hair piece so he can be displayed like this as Steve Rogers, Then you have Iron Man and Iron Spidey!
Here we see Nitro again and then the other versions you can make of the other characters with the supplemental pieces that come in the package. So there is Cap with his battered headpiece and bloodied shield. Then you have Peter Parker and then Tony Stark. This set is superior to a lot of others that have been done in the last while and just a great collection of figures even though three of them are just variants of characters we already have this set is SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!

Order 66

So I went to Target today on my way to work and I found some new Disney Cars toys that Xander collects (including the ever elusive Flik and P.T. Flea set that we have been searching for for months) and as I went up to the checkout stand they had some Target Exclusive Order 66 sets. I did not know that these were series 2 I thought they were more of series 1 which I found disappointing because all of the sets had Jedi that were not actually killed by clone troopers (Obi-Wan, Anakin, Palpatine, Mace Windu and I think the other was Yoda) this series has Anakin Obi Wan, Luminara and Palpatine again but much to my delight there were two new sets for this series with characters from the expanded universe. The first here which is my favorite and has one of the greatest little SW figures ever is Tsui Choi and a Barc Trooper (which is also the first clone trooper figure I have ever opened!)
Then here we have Master Sev also from expanded universe and he came with and ARC trooper. This guy is very reminiscent of Sora Bulg but I love the posability on this figure and the cloth capes on both of them. This was a great find!

Nephews and Brother-in-laws

So there is now only one Street Fighter minimate I don't have thanks to my nephew Jeremy who asked for a minimate set from my mom for Christmas. He got this 3rd version of Akuma (I now just need version 3 of Ryu) Ayhoo Jeremy has wanted this old gobot of mine for a long long time and so I traded him for this and so thanks Jeremy!
My brother-in-laws Chris and JD went to Disneyland this week and Breanne had them pick me up this Spud Fett so now I have all of the SW potato heads. This one is definitely the coolest of them all!

Clearance and Exclusives

Well after waiting for more than a month after wave four came out I finally got (and had to get on ebay) the previews exclusive that went along with wave four of BSG Captain Kat Katraine and the Heavy Assualt Cylon yeah minimates!
I have been eyeing this Origins Iron Spiderman at TRU for a long time because it has been on clearance. Finally yesterday it went down an additional 2$ and then I had a 15% off coupon so I snagged it up! I am not a huge colector of Spidey stuff but when he is wearing a suit that was created by Tony Stark you bet I am intersted!

GO BSG!

So I love Battlestar Galactica and my brother in law Chris had this up on his blog from an issue of GQ and this pic is awesome featuring three of the lovely ladies from the series- Katee Sackhoff, Tricia Helfer, and Grace Park.

Scorco at the Shopko

So like I said I would I checked out some other Shopkos to see if they had any GI Joes on clearance and here we have a very awesome looking Snake Eyes with Ninja Armor, he even has blades that come out of his shin guards!
Then we have the first Tunnel Rat here I have the second version demolitions expert so I am glad that I found this one and he came with a cool poster too!
Then top top off the score I found this Colonial Viper Mark VII stealth version Titanium ship! I love these little ships and have to limit myself to just the BSG and the very rare SW ship because otherwise I would want to get them all they are great!

Fortune Smiles!

So since yesterday was our anniversary I took the day off of work and Breanne and I went to the mall. I normally go to Hammond's Toys when I am there even though in general they don't have anything worth getting and when they do it is normally overpriced. Fortune smiled yesterday however as they had the four new Galactic Heroes sets that have been available online for more than a month now and they had them for a negligible price increase! So here we have the best of the four sets Aayla Secura and Commander Bly.
Then we have two of the four Jedi who Darth Sidious easily dispatches in ROTS, Saesee Tiin and Agen Kolar.
Then we have the Cerean Ki-Adi Mundi and Commander Bacara.
Last we have a really superb looking Tarfful and Commander Gree.
Then last night Breanne and I went to out to eat at Olive Garden and then went to Shopko before going to the movie theater to see National Treasure 2. Much to my excitement Shopko was clearancing their 8' joes but sadly there was only one that I didn't have (I of course will not be checking the other Shopkos in the area to see if I can find any others that don't grace my collection shelves. Here we have frontal assault Duke. Duke now is representing more than two times more in my collection than any other character! That is one thing that bothers me about toymakers that instead of giving us new characters they just give us renamed rehashed version of existing ones. Oh well I guess that will continue forever until I start my own toy company. So having the day off of work paid off not only to spend time with my wife but also because I went to a couple of places I wouldn't have otherwise and had some great finds.

Less than a month to go!

So today is our 6 year anniversary and our 11 year anniversary since our first date. I just have to say that I love you Breanne you are my world and I can't live without you! You love me despite my enormous geekiness. THANK YOU! I LOVE YOU!
First of all I hope everyone watched last night's season premier of Battlestar Galactica and basked in the awesomeness that is BSG. As long as you did watch this then you also will have seen the new TV spot for Iron Man and you would have thought to yourself WOAH that comes out in less than a month! HOLY CRAP I AM SO EXCITED! Come on admit it I know you all thought this. Anyway in honor of that fact and also the fact that I was moving stuff around in my toy room I decided taht it was time to take an Iron Man family photo to display all of my Iron Man collection so here you have it.
Here is just another view of my awesome IM collection.
Then here we have 7-11's slurpee cup collection that they put out this week. The four cups are lenticular which I LOVE that sort of thing and then the other one is just IM's head and if you look close you can see the straw with the IM on it. Oh boy oh boy I love IM and amd so excited for the movie.
