More Happiness Meals

So after weeks and weeks of waiting for this to come (some of that waiting being my fault since I didn't sign the check I sent for it and had to resend it) I finally got my exclusive send away Indiana Jones Crystal Skeleton figure with his throne. The figure itself is a bit of a disappointment and its articulation is difficult to move and fairly limited. But hey it is a cool mail away and looks cool sitting on his throne.
Then of course there has to be more happy meal toys and I got the big one I really wanted which is Luke and his X-wing and in the process I also got Leia on the Blockade Runner, Assaj Ventress on a Droid starfighter and Boba Fett on Slave 1. So there are only five more I don't have so don't be surprised if they show up here on the blog in the next little while.

Happy Meal happy

So here is the next bunch of Happy Meal toys. Some I got myself, some my wife went to McDonald's with the kids and some were co-workers who went out to lunch and brought a toy back for me. We have Han on a pull back racing Millenium Falcon, Chewbacca on a wind up walking AT ST, Wicket on a pull back racing speeder bike, Darth Vader on his Tie Fighter who talks and breathes and then R2 on a Naboo Starfigher who also talks. The only other one I really want at this point is Luke on an X-wing so I guess we'll have to see how many others I will have by then!

Why September 30th will be the best day of the year!

Well September 30th will see the release of Iron Man on DVD which despite how great some other movies have been is still my favorite movie of the year. I love this character and this movie was amazing and I can't wait until IM 2 gets here! These are some pictures from the 2 disc DVD.

Then I just found out last night after relentlessly checking his website for four months that Ben Fold's new album Way to Normal comes out that day too. If you know me then you know that Ben is my favorite musician of all time and when I went to the concert back in April and he played some new songs from this album I was stoked and now I know when it will be here and it happens to be the same day as IM. His website lets you listen to a couple of the songs from the album namely Hiroshima (which he played at the concert) and You Don't Know Me (with Regina Spektor) which is a frakkin awesome and catchy song. There is also going to be a live CD available with this one that has a track from SLC so I have to have that as well. Oh I can't wait for September 30th!!!!!!!!

Care of the Old Folks Home.

So Obi Wan uses his Starfighter to send a message care of the old folks home so my message will go to Hasbros old folks home since they are a bit senile with this set. This Galactic Heroes Jedi Starfighter is AWESOME looking with a bomb door that pops open and drops a proton door. I had to get this set just for this ship but if you look at the size of Obi Wan and then look at the cockpit you will realize that it is like four times too big! Obi Wan looking ridiculous inside of this ship. Oh well atleast the ship is frakkin awesome. The other problem with the set is that the box and other listings for this set say it is supposed to come with a battle droid, which it does not, so I sent an e-mail to Hasbro so we'll just have to wait and see how they remedy that issue.

May the Force Be With You!

First I have to mention so that you can go look, Xander has been begging me to take pictures of his Disney Cars Toys for a long time since he sees me taking pictures of my toys so I decided to take pictures and make some slide shows so those are now on the sidebar so go check them out! Here we have the McDonalds Yoda toy bobble head on a republic gunship and he says "May the Force be with you." My wonderful loving wife went and got us McDonalds for dinner on Monday just so that she could get this for me! She loves me so much and I love her!
Here we have one of the many new upcoming Galactic Heroes diorama sets (I had to pick between four different ones at TRU what a difficult decision) This set has for the first time a Dewback, a new Luke, A new molded sandtrooper, and then another trooper, a Chewbacca, and a Han. These little toys can be frustrating with these big sets because half of the figures you get in the set are ones you already have so that sucks.

Resistance is Futile.

Star Trek Minimates just got a heck of a lot cooler with the addition of the first TNG (that's The Next Generation to you uneducated masses) minimates. We have Captain Picard and Borg Drone. The BOrg has some incredible pieces on him. I just hope we get the rest of the TNG crew cause I love old ST too but I gotta have me a Riker, Laforge, Data, Crusher, Troi and Worf!
Then this wave also came with and Admiral Kirk, a duty uniform Scotty and the variant for the wave is dress uniform Scotty. (In my opinion the variant should have Locutus of Borg)
Then the other pack in this wave is sick bay Mccoy and Nurse Chapel who as you all should know (my wife actually told me) was played by Majel Barrett who was Gene Rodenberry's wife and would later be the voice of the computer on TNG as well as Troi's mother Lwaxana..
Last but certainly not least is a sort of holy grail for me. Here we have the very elusive Martian Manhunter from the C3 Javelin set. This was acquired in a trade with a minimatemultiverse forum staff member Shanster. I traded my For a Few Dollars More set (which you may notice is not pictured in a post on the blog anymore. . . . . . if you read my blog enough to have noticed that without reading this than I will give you five buck!) This was the most difficult to acquire pieces on my want list so now that I have him I am just so very excited. He is missing his extra headpiece but I don't find myself caring since he can only wear one of his two headpieces at a time! Now on to the next grail. . .tactical Batman from the C3 batcopter set.

To Obi or not to Obi (or maybe to Mickey-D's)

First of all Breanne and I went to the midnight showing of The Clone Wars and I am severely disappointed in all the Star Wars fans out there who did not come to this premier, the theater wasn't even half full! This movie was awesome. The soundtrack was great, I thought they did a great job with the story (although I was skeptical going in), the humor was great, I really liked the animation, Anakin's padawan Ahsoka was great, the action was awesome, so all in all a GREAT addition to the Star Wars family of movies and I am very very excited for the TV show this fall. So I have wanted this figure of Obi Wan in his clone trooper armor since the Cartoon Network series but I missed the figure then so I got this one now. He comes with interchangeable heads, thus the Shakespear pose with his own head. This is an awesome looking figure.
Then here I got this figure to fulfill a completionist sense in myself. The Cartoon Network series had the episode on Mon Calamari where Kit fisto leads a bunch of scuba clone troopers underwater. Since I have Kit Fisto and recently got the Mon Cal and Quarren figures I had to get this Scuba trooper to complete that episodes collection of figures.
Next here we have a picture of some Burger King kids meal toys from about four years ago. This is to give you an idea of how much BK we ate to get all of these. These are the best kids meal toys that I have ever seen. There is a large collection of them (they actually had two seperate runs) that have multiple different types of toys from plush, to motorized, to zip pull toys, to light up toys, to water squirters, etc. Now I took a picture of these to give an idea of how much McDonalds we will probably be eating in the near fugure because. . . . .
they are doing there own round of toys and here are the first two to kick off the collection. I am not concerned about getting ALL of these because frankly they aren't as cool as the BK ones and they are bobble heads which I don't care for much but I will try to get the ones I think are cool like Yoda and DV. This C3PO is just a wheeled push toy. The AT AT however winds up and walks which is cool. I love food and Star Wars and put them together WATCH OUT!

"This war is forcing us all to become razors. . ."

I love coming home from work and having something that was ordered online waiting here for me. Today it was the Razor five pack with a Cylon Pilot and Warrior, Kendra Shaw, Gina Inviere (her hair piece is great) and then William "Husker" Adama. I am so sad that there isn't any more BSG mates announced because I love these minimates and we still have so many characters that we need, not the least of which is ANDERS! I hope that minimates live forever because I love them!
Then we have some more new Galactic heroes. Today it is Jar Jar Binks and a Destroyer Droid. I can't beleive they have been doing these for so long and we just now getting a Destroyer Droid!

We are the Cobras HISS!

Well so the vehicle from the first wave that I thought would be the first one I would buy is now here and is the last of wave 1 that I have purcahsed. Now I finally have my HISS Tank with its HISS commander. I loved this tank as a kid the back turret can come out of the main body and I would fly it around like its own gun pod thing. This tank brings back so many memories.
Then here we have a comic 2 pack set that I had to get so that I could add Tol Skorr to my Jedi (or charactes with lightsabers) shelf. It also came with Asajj Ventress which is my third figure of her and they are all open. Anyhoo I like this Tol figure he looks great and will add another dark Jedi to the ranks since I don't have many of them.

T L C

So we went to Boise this weekend for my nephew Spencer's baptism and while we were there we went to the Walmart so that my wife could pick up the new Breaking Dawn book. At the Walmart I found the last of this first The Legacy Collection (TLC) wave that I wanted the Ewoks Leektar and Nippet. This was also a first day of issue figure meaning, I beleive, that this figure was made in the first production run of the figures and was meant to be on the shelves for the midnight premier of these toys.
Also at the Walmart I got that Darth Vader stackable keychain you see here simply because it is Vader so I could add him to my collection. The Galactic Heroes you see here were purcahsed last Thursday at TRU but I didn't get to post them before I went out of town. Here we have Shaak Tii and a Magna Guard.
Then we have Captain Jag and Plo Koon. There are a bunch more really cool GH figures coming out soon that I got to see at SDCC, I am really excited for the Jedi Starfighter vehicle and the set with a RANCOR! Great stuff!
