Most of the Christmas haul!

This may be the last post of the year so I had to put up my Christmas presents and other toys I purchased during my time off of work!  After watching the Force Awakens and I had to pick up this Rey's speeder set because I had to have a Rey minifigure!  After you see the movie you will want one too!

Walgreens of all places has started carrying minimates from the Marvel animated shows. So I had to pick up this Hulkbuster minimate that is from the Avengers cartoon. Still love me my minimates!

Nostalgia ebay purchase here of Fitor from Gobots!  This is one my older brother had that I played with and I loved because it is just a really cool space ship!  This one is in fair condition but I got a great deal.  These old toys are so well made even though they don't have the same articulation as new similar toys.

This was part of my Christmas present from my wife. This is Queen Grayskull who goes along with King Grayskull, the first MOTU Classics figure I bought at SDCC back in 2007. She was only on the 200X series but I love her look and of course I love MOTUC figures in general.  You can read her bio below. At this point there is one more figure next year I want and that is the fimation version of Skeletor so this line is basically done for me barring any big announcements.

My wife got this classic Iron Man Vinylmation for me and had it in my stocking.  this is hands down my favorite Iron Man look so she was so awesome to get this for me!

I had a student last year, Jeff, who hand made this AT-ST for me for Christmas. It is amazing!  It is a great gift on its own but coming from a student who took the time to make it for me makes it mean a lot more.  

 I saw this Gundam at Barnes and Noble and couldn't pass it up because I love the look and the bright colors. It was great putting it together too because these new Gundam models are amazing.  This one is called the Try Burning Gundam or something weird like that, I don't really care about the name just that it looks cool!

 My actual present showed up today in the mail (incomplete as they missed something on my order).  It came after Christmas because the Aliens minimates didn't get released until the 23rd.  This is wave two of the Aliens 2 packs. We have privates Frost and Crowe, Ripley, Newt, and two aliens (including a cool on fire one).  I have all of the Colonial Marines now!  They forgot in my order the deluxe sets with Queen and power loader so those will be on here soon!

I also snagged a Predator that had a helmet as the other one I got didn't.  This is the one from Predator 2 so now I have something from 1 and 2.

Lastly I got the Zombies villains 3 set with Ultron Drone, Pyro, Bullseye, and Vulture.  I love Marvel and I love zombies so putting them together is super cool and the minimates don't disappoint. 

HOLY CRAP STAR WARS THE FORCE AWAKENS IS TOMORROW!!!!!

Here was my Star Wars is this week purchase a First Order black series stormtrooper.  Oh man the next 24 hours are going to be so long!  I am seeing The Force Awakens tomorrow at 8 and then Friday again at 5.  I really do like the look of these stormtroopers and the black series are the best Star Wars toys of all of ever.

Here is another Tokyo Cars toy that I had to snag just because it goes with all my other Tokyo Mater cars.

Science Fiction vinyls series 2 came out so I snagged one and got a Cylon which is awesome for blindboxing but I love the look and I really want almost all of series two so we will see!

TMNT minimates series 3 came out and luckily Toys R Us got most of the wave so that I don't have to pay way more to get the blind bags.  Here is Rocksteady, Slash and Beebop! I love this new show so these minimates are the bee's knees!

Here are the vision quest turtles from the beginning of last season. I love these looks and that they gave the turtles alternate new weapons. 

Here we have Nightmare Before Christmas series 2 which again I was saved from blind bagging at Hot Topic because these were at TRU.  You have Zero, Pumpkin King Jack, Easter Bunny, and Santa Jack.  

Lastly I have snagged some vintage ebay toys that I had as a kid, this is the first one I got it is a Boulder from the Rock Lords.  This is in great condition and was  a great deal!  I love getting toys I had as a kid the nostalgia feeling is hard to beat!

A little Salacious in nature!

I love the Predator movies but didn't feel the need to get all of the Predator minimates so this is the set I chose with on Dutch and one Predator and now I don't feel like I have to get more. They are ok looking I am not a fan of the Predator's face.  I am excited for new Aliens sets coming soon!  stay tuned!

It is sad that I bought this whole thing just to get the Salacious Crumb but that's how much I love that character!  I kept the Leia (obviously) and who know it may be one of the last Slave Leia products they make now that Disney is saying they won't do it anymore and the Jabba is now sitting on my desk at work and it amuses students so the rest of the set wasn't a waste!  I love this little Salacious though he is so awesome.

Superior minimates

I places an order back in June and this Ant-Man movie set of minimates didn't come out till last week so I finally got everything else.  I loved this movie and so this is a great set with Ant-Man Yellow Jacket, Hope Van Dyne and Hank Pym.  This set killed it with the details on the Ant-Man and Yellow Jacket.  

Then I got the rest of my Avengers Age of Ultron wave 2 minimates there is the Hulkbuster (which I was disappointed didn't come with parts to take him out to make a regular Iron Man.  Then there is a Hydra Soldier, Vision, Ulysess Klaue, and Hulk.  I love this Vision but wish I had ordered the variant but the press release picture made it look not that great but then I saw a production picture and it looked better. I only need one though so I will just live with the one I got.

Then from the Axis wave of minimates I only got this one two pack of Superior Iron Man and Apocalypse (who has replaced my old one because I like the look of this one better).  This Iron Man is great and as I have been playing this character on my app Contest of Champions I was extra excited for it.

Then this is a single pack Alien minimate that was an SDCC exclusive. It is unique because it glows in the dark.  I am keeping it in the package though because the clear head piece on the top doesn't stay on :(

Mini Masters

So Mattel made these Mini Masters of the Universe figures that each came with a piece of Castle Grayskull.  For their size though they were too expensive until they went on clearance last week for 50% off!!!!! So I bought them all and adore them. I love little stylized figures like this and these ones look amazing.  Here you have Faker and Man-At-Arms

Next is Stratos and Scare Glow

Then Skeletor and Moss Man.  Skeletor and Mer-man are my favorites of them all. I love the little Havoc Staff and his face too.

Lastly you have Beast Man and Zodak.  I wish they would make more but then again unless they go on clearance I wouldn't buy them.  This price was good enough but even if I love how something looks doesn't mean I will fork out for it!

Amazing additions!

So Marvel Select figures are a great line but this one stands above the rest. I snagged this Hulkbuster Iron Man at the Disney Store in Salt Lake and even though I love my other Hulkbusters this one simply puts the others to shame!  The articulation is great and the shine to this figure is great too.  

 I love the movie Wall E and so when I found out this Lego was coming out I knew I had to get it. Then I found out the price point and thought it might not be in the cards.  So when I saw it on the shelf I was thankful that I had a 15% off coupon and 10$ in rewards!  This is easily one of my favorite Legos of all time.  I love how his arms, hands and head move and the rolling treads are great.  It came with a cockroach (even though it is just two pieces it is fun that they included it)

Not so impressive Comic Con haul

So it was Salt Lake Comic-con this last weekend and as always it was lots of fun but my haul this time was dismal compared to previous outings.  This is an X-wing model kit from Ban Dai. It is really high quality but the stickers were lame and it didn't satisfy my desire for a super cool toy purchase.

I was excited to see little vinyl figures from Kid Robot of Megaman. They were blind boxed so I just picked one and got Roll which is cool since I don't have her in any other form.

Then I found this at Walmart last week it is a traditional Japanes woman car from Cars 2 but since I collect the Tokyo Mater cars I picked this one up to go with the other Tokyo cars.

Force Friday and beyond

So September 3rd I showed up at Toys R Us at about 10 pm and waited in line with other anxious fans for the doors to open at midnight to start Force Friday which saw the release of all the new Force Awakens merchandise.  I got most of what I wanted that night but some crazy people at the front of the line cleaned out most of the action figures so I still don't have a Kylo Ren.  One of the things I was most looking forward to was these bionicle type figures from Lego.  This is Darth Vader and the picture does not do its awesomeness justice!  It has great poseability and it looks amazing!

This is the winner though, Obi Wan in the his Clone Commander gear is absolutely my favorite new Star Wars toy.  The pose here does do him justice! The face looks amazing and the details are incredible. I love this toy!

I was able to get a few action figures. I picked up Captain Phasma and decided this will be the one I leave in its package as an example of this packaging (I try to do this for every style of packaging).

I had to snag a stormtrooper because I really do like the new look.

I picked up two regular lego sets, this is the First Order TIE Fighter.  I love the black and gray with red accents.  At this point having not seen the movie I have no attachment to the minifigures (that may change) but the ship is definitely worth it.

Then I had to pick up the new X-Wing because, well I love X-Wings.  The pilots are cool but had to have the X-Wing! I also love the color scheme here and it has lots of firing guns on it.

Diamond released some blind bagged Nightmare Before Christmas figures.  I bought 6 and got duplicates of Jack and Sally but also got the Mayor of town and professor Finkelstein.  I love this movie and so toys of them in my favorite toy format was a must!

TRU got some exclusive Age of Ultron minimates as well as some Ultimate Spiderman cartoon (love that show) ones too.  So here is War Machine and Bruce Banner from Age of Ultron and Stealth Spiderman from Ultimate Spiderman.  

Then Walgreens of all places got some exclusive minimates as well so here is Groot, Rocket, and Star Lord from their animated series.  I love the smirk on Star Lord's face! I wish the Rocket was poseable and more different from the movie one but oh well.

Then I got this little set so that Xander could have a Carnage figure (one of his favorite characters).  I kept the Spiderman and the Shield guy and Xander got the Carnage.

Game over man, game over!

New Star Wars Lego set is an updated shuttle Tydirium.  This is infinitely better than the one I got way back in the day.  Whoever comes up with these designs amazing.

The set came with two Endor rebel troopers, Han, Leia, and Chewbacca.  For getting the set from legoshop.com I got a free Winter Soldier minifigure. I also bought an exclusive Admiral Yularen minifigure too.  Still trying to get all those random guys to fill out my SW minifigure collection.

At this point this is the last classics figure that has a vintage counterpart that I am getting.  This is Sssqueeze.  His bio is below.  His arms are bendy and they remind me of an alligator toy I had when I was a kid.  

ReAction continues to make toys of old movies and even though the quality of these action figures are kind of lame the nostalgia of some can't be passed up. I assume that is what they are banking on.  So I had to pick up this Stripe figure.

TRU got some exlusive TMNT minimates so I snagged Anton Zeck who becomes Bebop and then Mutagen Donatello because ya know I have to have all versions of Donatello.

 They also got some Aliens minimates. These characters will be in the next wave but I couldn't pass them up when they are on the shelf now.  So here is Hudson who is my favorite character from that movie and then Vasquez.  Wave two will fill out most of the rest of the Colonial Marines and have a Newt so I am excited about that but not as much as I am about the deluxe queen and power loader set coming later this year.

This is Callix who is a member of the Horde from the MOTU 200x series.  I love the look of this figure so I had to snag him. There will still be more MOTU figures coming but they will likely be Filmation style or from the 200x series.  The figures are still amazing enough to pick up the great looking ones. Bio below.
