Joyeux Noel

Well Christmas has come and gone and the next two pictures are the only two actual toys I got on Christmas day but they are great ones!  Thanks Breanne!  Here we have the MOTU Classic King Randor.  His package reads, "King Miro's second born son, Randor, Came of age during the Great Unrest, a time when conflict returned to Eternia following the Count Marzo Uprisings and the subsequent betrayal by his half brother Keldor. After the disappearance of his father, Rnador was appointed Captain of the Guard and lead Miro's troops in battle against Keldor's growing rebellion. Randor eventually ended the battles by fatally wounding Keldor and locking his evil warriors behind the Mystic Wall. For this act he was appointed King by the Council of Elders. King Randor raises his staff, exulting his rule over all Eternia."

Then here we have The Goddess who was the bonus figure for this month.  Her card reads, " After the death of King Grayskull, the Power of the Universe was transferred from the Sword of He to the Council of Elders who hid it deep within his castle. Knowing the full sword was the key to channeling the power, they split it in two to prevent it from falling into the hands of evil. For five centuries they waited for a worhty heir to be born. during this time their spirit guide, the creature known as "The Goddess" of Eternia, trained secret heroic guardians to keep the two halves of the sword separated. Many of these brave warriors took the name"He-Man" in honor of the sword they protected - giving birth to many different legends of hte porector of Eternia." I really hope my woes are over with mattycollector.com as this month I got a duplicate Randor (GRRRRRR) and next month starts a new subscription with Princess Adora, here's hoping that getting these figures will be easy from now on.
So a moderator of my minimates forum Shanester saw from a post that I was interested in Xevoz, a great toy line from several years ago that sadly got cancelled, and he offered to send me an extra one he had for free!!!! What a great guy!  So this came in the mail today and it is a great skeleton warrior guy, very cool and articulated figure!

Last minimates of the year!

Well I got my last bunch of minimates in the mail, so I am all done with new minimates till 2010. First off we have two Action Figure Express exclusive sets. Here we have the X-men from their very first appearance in comics. You have Marvel Girl, Cyclops, Iceman, and Beast.
Next we have those same characters but in their guise as members of X-Factor, so you have Jean Grey, Iceman, Cyclops, and Beast.
Then I got my TRU exclusive set today based on the classic comic Secret Wars. You ahve Symbiote Bond Spidey, The Beyonder, Dr Doom, and Photon. There will be more characters to flesh out this group in upcoming waves of TRU minimates but for now the year of minimates has come to an end!

My favorite kind of trip to the toy store!

So I go to TRU yesterday before I go into work and I go down the lego aisle and see that they are seriously restocked so I gander at the SW legos of course per usual and I see a couple of small Hoth battle sets that are new (I will probably get them eventually) and then a Speeder ship from an episode of SWTCW and then I see something that makes this trip my favorite kind. I see a new SW lego set that I didn't know was going to exist and is something that I have loved ever since I played the Tie Fighter game with my friend Jared like 15 years ago! This here is the TIE Defender. It is in my opinion the coolest looking TIE and the solar panels all spin around the central cockpit. This is a very cool lego set and makes me happy to get this since I haven't purcahsed a couple other SW lego sets taht I really want I can live with just having this one. . . . .for now!
Then I went on over to the aisle where they have minimates because there is the TRU exclusive wave 5 I have been waiting for and to my delight these were also on the shelf. Here you have a set that will also be released in an upcoming wave but since both these guys have alternate versions I can display I bought them now and will use the upcoming pack to display the alternates. This is the Extremis Armor Iron Man and his long time nemesis Titanium Man from the Soviet Union!
Then here we have Old Man Logan which is pretty much the same as the one from the Wolverine TTA set but this one doesn't have an overcoat or blood on his hands and he comes with old man Hawkeye.
The coolest of the exclusive sets though is this set which I actually got in a trade with someone on my minimate forum. Here we have Cosmic Silver Surfer with the coolest board with a peg to attach him to it and a stand to make it look like he is flying and then power hands and he comes with Swordsman who I don't really know anything about but he still looks cool. Well as usual I have some more sets coming in the mail here in the next week so yipee!

To infinity and beyond

Here we have the last new DST release of minimates for the year (there are still some TRU sets to come). This is the Infinity Gauntlet which includes Drax the Destroyer, Adam Warlock, Thanos, and Mephisto. All very cool if obscure charaters.
Here we have Mara with her first Star Wars toy. A couple months after she was born I found this Barris Offee doll on clearance so I picked it up intending to give it to Mara. Now that Barris has been on several episodes of the Clone Wars which Mara watches with us I figured it would be a good time to give it to her since now she knows who the character is and likes Star Wars too. I wasn't here for the proud moment last night though when she asked if she could take the doll to bed with her, that's my girl!!!!

These are a few of my favorite things!

So I haven't posted for about a month now and well this hoard of new toys makes up for it. First here we have Scareglow from the MOTU classics line that was an insane headache to actually get despite my subscription with mattycollector.com but I don't want to get into that as it makes me steaming angry. The card here says, "In life, Nul was a shift bounty hunter who spent years attempting to break into Castle Grayskull, obsessed with legends that within lay the power to become Master of the Universe. In death, he was cursed and banished into the dimension of Infinita - forever chained to his past crimes. He was brought back to Eternia by a magical spell of light cast by Skeletor to locate the most evil warriors int he five dimensions. Provided with a scythe of Doom, Nul agreed to join forces with Skeletor and quickly became known as "Scareglow" due to his ability to burst forth and freeze his enemies with fright." And yes he does glow in the dark! I love these figures as you all know they are amazing in sculpt and just everything so even though Mattel sucks sometimes I will continue to get these!
This is a promotional minimate of Goth Girl who I really know nothing about but if you posted a widget on your blog you were entered to win her and since she is a limited edition minimate I posted teh widget and I won her. She came a while ago I just haven't posted until now. The guy who writes these books used to work for Diamond Select and so he got them to make a minimates of the character from his book. Very cool.
This is the only GI Joe Rise of Cobra action figure that I bought and that was because I didn't want to get one and love it and then start buying a bunch more so I waited quite a while to buy this Flash figure because I thought he was cool and then I only bought him because he was on sale. He is a great figure and didn't make me want to go out and buy a bunch more so that is cool.
Now here comes the massive loot of minimates that I got in the mail today! Here is wave two of Terminator 2 minimates. We have the Asylum Assault T1000 with the Asylum Sarah Connor,Combat T800 with young John Connor, Battle Damaged Sarah Connor and Motorcycle cop T1000. This wave didn't get its corresponding TRU exclusive pack but this is still a great wave and as always the T1000s are amazing.
Here we have first the Previews exclusive pack of Ray and Glow in the Dark Slimer (I love the base on the Slimer). Then you have the 2 minimates that were new from the wave 2 boxset (the other two were duplicates of Ray and Winston) We have Gozer and a Stay Puft Marshmallow Man with a new facial expression.
Here we have wave 29 of Marvel Minimates. This here ist he Variant WW II Wolverine with the X-Force Wolverine and then a Hydra Agent (shown in both its versions)
Next we have the amazing 90s cartoon version of Storm and then our first non living dead Black Panther (as the other version of BP was from the Zombies wave).
Then my favorite of the wave is Armored Daredevil and the super sweet Moon Knight!
Then we have wave 30 which includes Spider Girl and the Variant Ultimate Spiderwoman and then a Vault Guard shown in both its versions.
Then we have Scorpion with a great new mold for the tail on his back and the House of M Spiderman.
Then we have insulated Spiderman and Electro (a long anticpated Spiderman Villain along with Scorpion)
Then we have the next wave of BSG miniflyers and the last BSG minimates that will probably ever be made. This is a Viper with a Battle Damaged Starbuck.
Thern we have a Cylon Raider with a Red Stripe Cylon which were the Cylons that helped the humans in the final episode of the series. So there you have a few of my favorite things and an incredible pile of loot! I have more minimates coming in the mail so it won't be so long before I post again!

Warrior Goddess

Well this is a great day to finally get Teela after the craziness of Mattycollector.com and shipping these subscriptions. She comes with an alternate head with her snake headress and the snake staff and Zo-ar too. The package says, " The adoptive daughter of Duncan, the current Man-At-Arms, Teela grew up in the palace of King Randor. Trained from an early age in the ways of battle, at 18 she became a Captain of the Guard, leading Randor's troops and acting as a defacto member of the Masters of the Universe. She has yet to become aware of her true heritage as the magically cloned daugher of, and heir to, the Sorceress of Castle Grayskull. She carries the Staff of Ka which was once used by the Snake Men in their epic battles against the Horde and king Grayskull during the Great Wars. Teela uses her magical staff to track her foes' every move!"
This here is one of the very first minimates ever made in AA's Rock series we have here Ozzy Osbourne. I wouldn't normally care about getting this but I traded with someone on my forum for something he wanted so I figured I might as well get a minimate that I don't have. He looks crazy eh!

So misunderstood.

When I saw this NECA figure of the Brainy Gremlin from Gremlins 2 I couldn't pass it up as the Gremlins movies are some of my favorite of all time. This particular character being on the top of my list. It is just a cool addition to my collection. The Gremlins were just so misunderstood as Brainy explains in the movie, I mean just look they can't be all that bad. . . .right?
This here is not the figure for October for MOTU (as I am still waiting on receiving this month's figure), this was the bonus figure for the month and thus was ordered seperately from my subscription. This is Zodak, not to be confused wtih Zodac from a few months back. His card says, "An ancient and powerful enforcer for the Council of Elders, Kar-tor studied the teachings and mystic fighting techniques of the Cosmic Enforcers and knows how to instantly identify an opponent's weakness. After his mentor, the original Zodac left Eternia to fulfill the Elder's bargain with Trolla, Kar-tor took his place ont he Council and helped lead them in battle against the Snake Men, eventually trapping King Hssss in the Void with the power of his staff. Although he prefers a solitary life of meditation in the Mystic Mountains, when he is called to battle, Zodak attacks his enemies using all the power at his command." I have said it before and I will cotinue to say how amazing I think these figures are. I wish they were at normal retail stores so that I didn't have to pay for shipping cause that sucks but otherwise these are worth it.

Secret Pilot Factor. . . .

So I picked these first two things up about a week ago and am just now getting around to posting about them. First here we have the Rebel Pilot Legacy box set series III (and yes I have series I and II). This set includes Red Squadron pilot John Branon, Rogue Squadron pilot Shira Brie (whoe later become Lumiya for all you who read the LOTF series), and the A-wing Pilot Jake Farrell. I had to snag this box set as it falls under the categories of SW stuff that I still collect (namely Rebel Pilots, Characters with Lightsabers, and Expanded Universe).
Here we have the Clone Wars version of Luminara Unduli which I puchased to replace my Ep II version that I didn't really care for and recently sold. This version is much better.
Then today I went to TRU and they had out the new TRU wave of minimates (woot woot) and so I picked up the two TRU Exclusive sets. Here we have Molecule Man and Spiderwoman from the Secret Wars comic series and they are to go along with the Secret Wars box set that is coming out at TRU in the next few weeks!
Then we have X-Factor Angel and Warpath which are to go along with the AFX X-Factor 4 pack that will be coming out sometime in the next 6 months or so I would imagine.

Well here is proof that the new Mattycollector.com subscription program works. The first firgure in the subscription is Webstor evil master of escape his bio says, "One of the last remaining members of an ancient Eternian race of spider warriors called the Arachna, Webstor was awoken from hibernation beneath Snake Mountain and occasionally allies himself with Skeletor. In ancient times, the Arachna were an advanced, dominant race until driven underground by the Snake Men. Araneus retains much of the knowledge of his people and while seemingly savage, is an expert mathematician and strategist as well as an accomplished escape artist. He often arms himself with a grappling hook, fast pack and uses his climbing power to escape capture!" Once again I have to say how incredible all of these MOTU classic figures look and my only complaint about this one is that they didn't package him with his armor on.
I went to TRU this morning because people on my forum have been reporting finding the new wave of X-men Origins Wolverine minimates and Thursday is new product day at my TRU so I went and voila here we have the four new minimates. We have Battle Damaged Wolverine and the movie version of Gambit who was cool in the movie other than he really didn't talk with the accent appropraite to that character. But in any case the minimate of him here looks great, I love his coat.
Then we have final battle Deadpool in all his creepiness and WW2 Wolverine. I was dissappointed when they first showed the movie minimates that there was no Deadpool (this version) and no Gambit so I am extremely happy that they did them now and it worked well in conjunction with the release of the DVD which Xander and I watched yesterday and he really liked it, although he thought Deadpool's eyes were creepy!

700 is gold!

So back when BSG minimates were first announced they showed pictures of miniflyers to go with them and after 3-4 years now we are finally getting them with these first two being TRU exclusives. Here we have a Mark VII Viper (I wish it was the old version rather than the new version but oh well) and it comes with our first Lt. Brendan Costanza AKA Hot Dog AKA Bodie James Olmos (the real life son of Edward James Olmos AKA Admiral Adama) AKA the real father of Nickie Tyrol. It is very cool to get this character with such a cool little toy.
But here we have minimates #700 which is a gold Cylon Commander with his Raider. I opened him up as # 700 since gold is significant. . . . yeah I know I am wierd but these toys are anything but they are frakin awesome!

Great bounty!

So at Walmart today I got a great bounty in this Lego Clone Walker Battle Pack set that was on clearance for 5$ but the real bounty was . . .
this bounty hunter Cad Bane from The Clone Wars series. This figure was on my want list and he is the first figure I have purcahsed with this new packaging. There have been like 2 waves already that I have passed on so here is Cad in the cool new packaging.

Slimer, Zombie, Ghost, Terror Dog, and. . . . . . Marshmallow Man?

Happy day as people on my MM forum have been reporting seeing the GB TRU wave 2 minimates at stores across the country I had to make srue I was at my TRU first thing this morning (as Thursdays is when they put out new product) and voila here they were! We have here a Zombie Taxi Driver and Winston Zeddmore.
Next we have Ray Stantz with the first ghost trap and his cool goggles and he came with the Happy Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.
Next we have Louis Tully in a GB uniform and a bright green version of Slimer.
Next we have Lab Coat Egon (I love the reuse of Baltar's blood vials) and a Jogger Ghost.
Last but not least is this here Energize Terror Dog who came with a Peter Venkman who was a duplicate so Xander was quite happy to take that off my hands today! This week has been a great minimate week so now it is time to enter drought time until October when there are more slated for release!

The best minimates of them all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It has been a long time coming but I finally have wave 27 and 28 of my Marvel Minimates and I am starting with wave 28 here because it has given me the first versions of two of my favorite comic book characters of all time as well as my favorite female comic book character! Here we have a Wolverine (nothing new there although this version looks great) and we have DEADPOOL!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally the Merc with a Mouth in MM form loaded with 4 guns two katanas and a sai as well as two version of his mask (displayed here with my favorite version). I love this minimate so much I can't even describe it!
Next we have the best two pack ever! We have Gambit who is my favorite X-man and Psylocke who is my favorite X-woman and favorite female comic charater of all time. Both of these look amazing and come with AWESOME accessories. Getting Gambit and Deadpool in one wave made this wave more than worth the wait but man am I glad they are here and in my posession!
This wave's other set included this here Sabertooth and a Skrull. This Skrull has had his head transplanted with one of the extra heads from my Secret Invasion set so that he will be different from the other Skrull that came with the variant.

So here is the variant of the wave which is first appearance Sabretooth from Iron Fist #41 or something like that with a Skrull as well.
Now we can get to wave 27 which to me has some good figures but is really half and half meaning half awesome and half just ok. Here we have Ultimate Thor and Ultimate Nick Fury (as you can tell this is the version of NF that the new Marvel movies are basing the character on)
Here we have the variant of the wave which is World War 2 Captain America and a SHIELD soldier.
Here we have Ultimate Captain America which I think is one of the best Caps they have done yet and another SHIELD soldier which I actually have switched the head out on as well to make him look different (but I did that after taking this picture).
Last but not least we have Ultimate Hulk (blah) and Ultimate Iron Man (Sweeteroni!) They are going to release this guy in an upcoming TRU wave as well so I will have to snag another IM to display him without his armor on like I have with all my other IMs. Man what a high it was to open up these minimates, especially wave 28. The next waves have some great characters in them too so its not like I don't have anything to look forward to but as for my must have list it is now complete!
